Seems like it’s happening. Silicon will be the cheap stuff. High end integrated chips will be made from diamonds. Moore’s law will reset now. Diamonds are better at heat management so way more efficiency and smaller electronics. Japan is actually leading the way. In 2023 Saga university invented the first Diamond semiconductor and now Japanese private company Orbray will be the first leading company to produce product by 2030. They will go public by 2029.

Pffft, no.

would be cool if they can use those artificial chinese diamonds.
would be even cooler if that does work and china refuses to give weimerica any of its artificial diamonds.
the coolest thing ever would be the end of weimerica.

I sense a yes in the psychosphere though

If we are converting to a different substrate it would be best to skip electrons and just go right to photons

today, most diamonds are artificial, especially those used in industry and machinery, not hard to make either if you have enough energy.

In any case there is no need for switching to carbon based semiconductor, silicon is fine, the problem in tech is a problem of architecture, we need a Parallel PC and that can only be done with fiber optics, because fiber optics can operate on multiple spectrums thus solving the bus issue.

Yeah, but what does China think of this?

diamond has a huge bandgap, so it's strictly an insulator at room temperature, even with extreme doping
it becomes a semiconductor at high temperatures, so could be feasible in challenging environments, but it's mostly just cheaper to cool silicon to working temperatures because it's pretty much a wonder material for a variety of physical and metallurgical reasons

I always thought jewels were used in Technology in old world! Like the jewels in the Temple in Jerusalem which I think was a supercomputer.

C of SiC is Diamond.

Diamond semiconductors are first used in military applications (Long-range radars, missile seekers, electronic warfare jammers, directed energy weapons, rail guns, etc.)
In other words, the production of diamond semiconductors would bolster Japan's military industry. Sllow Japanese weapons to be exported at once

This is why we invest in diamond.

Alaska's long-range radar (Lockheed) uses Fujitsu's GaN HEMT. If we replace this with diamond semiconductors, performance will increase at once. Diamonds are the key to next-gen defense.

What is a computer going to do at this point that's going to blow your mind? Just what in the hell is this building towards? What the fuck are speculating on? You're disappearing up your ass.

a fact that always intrigued me: heat conduction in diamond becomes exponentially more efficient if you purify it to only the carbon-12 isotope
>>
Another good application of Diamond is Electro-Magnetic Railgun. Diamond power device could make its power module small and more powerful.

Railgun will be the iconic weapon of Japan's remilitarism, like modern-day Mitsubishi Zero.

Diamond has insane level of thermal conductivity. This means Diamond can handle bigger electricity. Whoever owns Diamond, control electronic weapons.

Not hard to make, but incredibly hard to cut. Sure lasers work in some applications, but I don't believe the tech is there yet for it to be remotely cost effective.
>>
>>545234625
it also has an insane bandgap and must operate at high temperatures to be a semiconductor

Hurry tf up and build your military again. Who tf is going to tell you no? >>545234625
Also, which company in Japan is leading this tech the furthest and can diamonds be used for RAM chips?
>>
>>545234625
That only applies to metals no? If that shit worked surely we would have already had at least a prototype
A real one, not just clickbait shit like that room temperature super conductor we had a few months ago.

be 100 years from now
- all electronics are diamond semiconductored
- digital is for the masses, analog is for the super-wealthy. All the analog airwaves are tightly monitored and controlled.
- The internet is controlled by the World Government, and is necessary for all monetary transactions.
- asteroids are being mined
- trillionaires number in the thousands, and live on the moon, in orbit, on Earth, and elsewhere
- most of humanity is browned and living in shit
- Elon Musk is still alive, and living in a vat, tripping on K
- the number one television shows is "Farts"

It takes decades to use Diamond semiconductors in consumer products, it will probably be after 2040s. Diamond will debut first in military and space industries, 6G infrastructure, and data center power modules, etc. These are still huge bussiness for Japan.
