>>545227353Everything up to 4 could be considered good, I didn't mind Cortana "dying" but her becoming an enemy and the whole "Created" scenario was painfully stupid though. Halo has been emotionally driven since the first game, which tapped into a person's wonder with Forerunners and horror with the Flood, Halo 2 brought into focus what everyone was fighting for or deceived to fight for, H3 pulled us further into the Forerunner's mysteries and closed with a daunting sadness in deep space. Halo 4 was okay but it went overboard on the emotional aspects, it was too on-the-nose if that makes sense, aside from also being poorly acted out (music didn't capitalize on the emotions being shown like in previous games). Cortana has always had an attraction to Chief (John), she inherited that inclination from Halsey but being a person in her own right saw him differently. Her dying on the Composer Dreadnought protecting Chief was great, I just wish that her "resurrection" reflected the earlier games and she remained an ally perhaps while trapped in the Domain. Being a digital entity by default, it would have been badass if she could have fought alongside us in a mechanical body against the rampant Domain after rescue.
