Conservatives don't read the whole amendment. Nor do they understand its historical context. So they think average civilians should have guns, no questions asked.
>>
>>545237269

Two separate things.

"A well-regulated breakfast, being necessary to the healthy start of the day, the right of the people to keep and eat cornflakes, shall not be infringed."
>>
>>545237269
>ai pfp tries to act like he doesn't know what "regulated" meant in the time and context of the writing of the amendment
lol

>>545237269
It's such an anti Republican redpill to read that amendment as the untwisted naked truth it is, it's a well regulated militia.
>>
>>545237269
Does she even understand that the law authorizes private militias with heavy equipment?

Of course. But his paycheck is reliant on him pretending he doesn't know that and didn't read the Bruen ruling that explicitly brings up the storied tradition of privately owned ships and artillery being leased to the US navy and army as late as the western indian american wars to fill out their needs. Citizen's preteen sons were known to ride into town with a family horse and carriage to pick up a cannon that was ordered weeks prior to bring home while the father was busy with something else. These people have to act ignorant of history to push their agenda.
>>545237552
>What does "well regulated" mean?
Properly equipped and practiced.
>>
>>545237552
Functional
>>
>>545237269
American are cucks, the whole idea of having guns is to shoot at zogbots if they violated your constitution, instead, they are using them for cosplay or mass shooting civilians in malls and schools or worse, shooting kids overseas and thinking it's a heroic thing
>>
>>545237552
Properly trained. It imagines local militia. Like maybe you town even has artillery.
>>
>>545237269
She's not right, she just doesn't really understand how English works. That is the problem with everyone who makes this stupid argument.
>>
>>545237269
The first statement just preferences the second statement. In order for the state to be free there must me well regulated militia, therefore the right to bare arms shall not be infringed. What's difficult to understand. The base assumption is that we want the stste to be free so access to arms should not be inhibited.
>>
>>545237337
Wrong. I don't mind if you have a shotgun or even a bolt action rifle. But what the hell do you need a fuckin machine gun for? What do you want a goddamn raygun too?
>>
>>545237337
>american laws
>food analogy out of nowhere
>>
>>545237552
In an organized order, some sort of structure. Even a single person can be a well regulated militia. The 2A outright gives citizens vigilantism rights to form organized civilian armies at a moment's notice in case our leaders become cut off from communication - being killed or turned traitor or otherwise.
You as a civilian are an impromptu standing army of our nation if need be. That's why you need to right to bear arms in case you're ever in a shit-hit-the-fan situation where the above situations happen.
People really go out of their way to misinterpret and twist the 2A to reduce people's capabilities to practice the sacred privileges and rights granted by said amendment.
>>
>>545237269
One of the regulations of any militia would be possession of a firearm. Ideally everyone would have a firearm chambered in the same calibre
>>
>>545237950
Machine guns are regulated. You can’t just buy a machine gun willynilly
>>
>>545237950
Civilians were allowed ships, cannons, muskets and the like in an era when state level militaries were using ships, cannons, muskets and the like. Why shouldn't civilians of today get access to the same hardware modern militaries use? If the founders thought civilians should have been armed at a lesser level, why wouldn't they explicitly state that in the document?
>>
>>545237552
Having regular requirements like gear and training

properly trained and organized. you have to remember that the constitution was written with the presumption that the united states would not have a large standing army and instead rely on calling up state militias in times of war, and they expected the population to know how to use firearms to some degree before receiving formal military training, which means they need to be able to own firearms in the first place.

What regulations were in place during the time of the founding fathers? Surely if well-regulated meant placing restrictions on something, then you could show examples from back then of regulations being imposed

>Nor do they understand its historical context.
The historical context is that its a civic guardrail against abusive government.

Yes, it referred to normal people being armed, and people are 100% justified to go "cold dead hands" on you every fucking time you bring this up.

We can all look at the UK and see how a government treats an unarmed populace.

It was written because they knew a well armed civilian population is the best possible deterent to foreign and domestic adversaries. The founder fathers used to give canons to civilians and the amendment was writen when primitive machine guns were already a thing. Civilians were also allowed to have their own warships. As it is written all americans shouldbhave access to nukes. Common sense dictates thats not a good idea but weve had 80 years post nukes to make a change to thar without issue. I don't understand the argument that the 2nd amendment is only supposed to be for hunting when it was quite obviously written for the population to have access to military arms. We are pretty much uninvadeable because we have more guns than people.
>>
>>545237269
Imagine caring about the Constitution and what it says in 2026. What it says is determined by the POLITICAL group wearing the black robes and they can make it say green is blue.

>>545237269
"Well-regulated" is just an old english term for well-prepared you fucking retard.
>>
>>545237269
No I've read it and understood it.
It literally says anyone and everyone can have guns, because in order to have a militia. You must be armed.

jeet means janitor!
>>
>>545237269
Yes. If you have a gun, you are responsible enough to have enough money to purchase one on the free market.
>>
>>545237269
So nothing about self-defense or hunting? These guns are meant to be used to attack tyrannical elites?

>>545237269
So you mean to tell me that in a list of amendments ALL about PERSONAL liberty, they put one in there detailing government ones?

What?

Yeah, I think it's you who does not understand it buddy.
>>
>>545237269
I don't fucking care what some foid's opinion is. No is the only acceptable answer to this retardation, and debating the point just gives it legitimacy.
There a lot of things we need to just start saying no to. Nobody lives forever, and it is entirely up to them if they want to move up the schedule.
>>
>>545237552 #

In this context it means a well disciplined and trained militia. Leftists literally think it means regulated by laws and red tape or something.
