The median wage is $60,000. If you aren't dumb as a rock, you can achieve it by 25. Saving $1,200 a month at a 7% real rate of return from 25 to 45 means you'll have $590,000 in tax-free accounts like your Roth IRA or Roth 401(k) or Solo Roth 401(k). By 35 that you should be able to start your own passive income stream or business with at least $1,000 a month in profit which will give you ~$165,000 in liquid cash if invested well. Absolutely none of this is considered community property that can be taken away from you in divorce. You have enough money to afford not just one family, but three separate families across Asia and Latin America and at the sight of your accounts plus the prospect of a green card any 18 year-old girl in these regions will want three kids from you. With an American passport and trust fund behind them your children will wife and children will immediately become part of the top 1% in their second-world or third-world countries.
The trick is to live with your parents and you'll save lots of cash even on a minimum wage job.

>>545248617Mean ≠ median. Mean is sum all wages and divide by the number of wages. Median is line all wages in order from least to greatest and pick the dead center of the line. Mean is grossly overstated due to a relative handful of very high earners. The midline is actually about $2,400/mo. Anywhere paying that much to a large number of people rent studios for $2,000. Anywhere that studios rent for $600 have nowhere near 50% making at or more than $2,400/mo.

>>545248617Lets put it this way. Those poor indentured servants from India make 3.5x the US median income with fake degrees. If you go through the military, and college, and through a bunch of security clearances and invasive vetting and join the FBI and work there for 10 years. You will still be making about $50,000 a year less than the streetshitter with a fake degree. If you're a teacher, firefighter, cop in a small city, meter reader, average tradesperson youre also making less than that. If youre young youre being gatekept from the trades even if youre skilled. If youre in tech youve already been replaced by a jeet. Less than 6% of Americans have more than $5K liquid in their bank accounts. If housing prices crash, everyone you know that is moderately wealthy will be nearly flat broke and underwater. Despite using surprise as cover for 2008... most mortgages were actually issued to high earners who eventually lost their jobs and would have had no issue paying otherwise.
>>545249406Taxes take 20%. Rent is $1500 minimum anywhere for a studio. A bunch of forced fees like car insurance. Leaves most people with... nothing. Jews destriyed this country the same way they destroyed every empire throughout history. Debt.

And dumbfuck miggers call Europeans poor lol.OPs calculation is about the dumbest fucking post on /pol/ in a long time. In best case scenario your disposable income per month is like 3500 USD. That means before rent, before bills, before all the things you have to buy in the real world. In reality you could save around 500 USD a month assuming you waste 20 years of your life experiencing nothing but work. By 35 is more like by 40 and at that point you have literally no other choise but to find an ugly golddigger from Asia or South-America. >>545247713>Saving 1200 a monthAverage people can't go through a month without debts, what are you talking about. Those median jobs are city jobs where housing alone takes 50% of a wage away. Then bills, food, medical. You can save shit if you live with your mom or in a car, but even that isn't 1200 a month.
>>545250359That's just the thing. When we exclude billionaires, the average income is much higher in Europe, as we have less of them. Our average income tax is ~40% while in the US it's ~30%. But with 10% higher taxes we get very cheap healthcare, daycare, schools including university, superior roads, safe and effective public transport, although there's something wrong in Spain. The quality of life is just better in Europe. Don't know for how long, but atm it is.
The way to make it in the usa is to use your family and together you all can generate wealth for your family. The problem is if your parents or grandparents bought into the selfish world of its all for me. If thats the case, im sorry to say but you are now the foundation for your family. That means you must plant trees of which you will never feel the shade. Literally anyone can do this, but it requires the one resource you have a limited amount of: time.

>>545251028Sure. Europe is better if you're broke, which most Euros are.America is better than Europe if you're rich, which most Asians and Whites are. Just don't be Black, in which case America sucks. Hispanic median income is $70,950 btw.
>>545248617Kinda depends. What liberals don't want you to understand is that minimum wage was never meant to be a "livable wage". Minimum wage was for kids working part time jobs. The problem is that niggers are so lazy and stupid they never move beyond that level of responsibility. Like in college I worked at a restaurant and there were people my parents age who had worked there for years and never went beyond the entry job with minimum wage. I got moved up to management even as a part timer in a matter of weeks because I actually tried to be good at my job.
>>545250096Of course rent is $1,500 - $2,000 minimum but with a roommate that's now $750 - $1,000 plus utilities. If you share a car with someone the car insurance is only $90 - $100 a month and payment $250 to $300 per month, completely doable at the median wage. The issue is "lone rangers" who are not pooling resources with friends, roommates, or family. If you want to go Rambo in this economy of course it's going to be tough. But this thread is about frugality and having a long-term strategy. >>545251161>cherry picking full-time workersUnlike Europe we Americans actually have real jobs and part-time work is voluntary not coerced here. >>545251602Holding gold alone over the past twenty years has produced a higher real rate of return at 8%. Accumulating highly liquid assets such as money market or CDs and buying during crises would yield a real rate of return of 12%+. Selling gold to buy stocks during periods where inflation outpaces the gold price and vice versa would also yield approximately the same. It's too easy for retail investors to beat the institutions because the institutions are generally constrained to strategies that yield predictable and constant rates of return making them extremely vulnerable to market cycles and allowing retail to profit massively by trading counter-cyclically.

>>545251469>if you're doing bad, it's your faultEveryone has a sob story and everyone has the right to one. But at the end of the day, the responsibility for our life is divided at least 55/45 between external events and internal choices. If we are doing bad we probably had some part to play in it and made some mistakes intentionally or unintentionally. Even if we decide to excuse ourselves and say (justly or unjustly) that particular mistakes were made through no fault of our own, or because we did not have enough wisdom or knowledge, this is an exception, but the norms and standards of behavior do not change. It's normative to seek out a skilled trade. It's normative to show up to work on time and fulfill job duties. It's normative to spend one's free time learning and taking the next steps to get ahead. It's normative to save money. It's normative to seek more work if you need more money. It's normative to live a clean, alcohol and drug-free life. It's normative to take a positive outlook, set attainable goals, and make the best with what you have. It's normative to seek to contribute to society either charitably or by volunteering one's skills or time. It's normative to plan for a family. Whether we think life has treated us fairly or poorly, the distinction between proper and improper and good and bad still remains and it's our job to walk a straight path or get as close to it as humanly possible. If in the present we do not put any effort to conform ourselves to the normative standards of behavior required for a successful life in society we cannot claim external events forced us to do so or blame anyone else for our future outcomes.

Going to school leads to better outcomes for you personally and you could always tell someone else who is struggling to go to school and it would help but "going to school" isn't a solution for national economies, it's a way to gain personal advantage at the expense of everyone else. If you give everyone a doctorate it just means you now have tons unemployed and part time mickey'D's doctors that you then berate for not doing a double doctorate if they wanted a real job. Same with everything else, everyone working harder just leads to harder working being a minimum requirement, being tri lingual just means you need 5 languages to succeed etc. Education in particular has long since stopped being a thing that advances society as a whole (like being literate and having basic math skills make you more efficient worker everywhere) and started being almost exclusively a way to separate yourself from the pack as in a way to not be the slowest person being chased by the bear.

It is incumbent upon the recipient of the student loan or scholarship to utilize it towards an arena in high or moderate demand such that the value of his or her labor significantly increases. In America, you are free to choose a BA in Gender Studies over a BS in Nursing, or a vocational certificate in African Studies over a vocational certificate in mechanic work, but you have only yourself to blame for "tons of unemployed and Mickey D's". While I agree with your overall assessment in the case of an isolated socialist economy like Finland where the unemployment rate is 11% largely because of the anti-capitalistic policies of the Finnish state and E.U. coupled with neurotic isolation from the largest bordering economy Russia, such analysis cannot apply to the United States as we are a free market economy relatively well integrated with all our large neighboring economies. The policy of our government is not socialistic or regressive enough to absolve people from personal responsibility for their economic outcomes over time.

>>545253010I would say 55 goes to external events as our range of choices is determined by our upbringing and external circumstances, but we have multiple decisions to make ranging from very good to very bad within that predefined limited range. Many people cannot help being stupid because of their upbringing but they can at least choose to be a diligent, hardworking, religious type of stupid instead of a lazy and penniless type of stupid if they consistently try over time and keep it a goal. Not everyone was raised a musician or has musical talents but they can play the piano decently enough if they make it a goal and persistently save money for lessons and try over time. While humans may not have an unbridled libertarian type of free will to "pull themselves up by their bootstraps" and undo every limitation caused by the outside world, I do think we have quite a powerful ability to produce a moderately improved version of ourselves and attain moderate goals within reach over the long-term with persistent longing, repeated effort, and repeated goal-directed thinking and planning especially in a market-based developed capitalistic economy where a wide variety of means and pathways are at our disposal.
>>545249545>Thanks for making me feel even more shitty then. But despite that, we own less in contrast to what we earn. At the very least you can hold a roof over your head with a DHL job in poland. We can't do that here without being a paycheck away from standing on kensington ave.

>>545253498What a shame
>>545252826So then why don't you borrow money and invest it?
>>545252745All i'm reading here is that you should work an unfulfilling job doing something you don't enjoy for over ten to twenty years simply because you are getting paid for it and because that is what is what is expected out of you from everyone else working an unfulfilling job for ten to twenty years.the more people attack neets the more it's becoming dramatically obvious that the people attacking the neets are extremely jealous that the neets don't have to posture that they're working all day, or that the neets dont have to work all day. Kind of funny that someone who lives with mom and doesn't work is the problem but the danger hair who throws herself on the ground once a year at the social security office and receives disability for it is okay.
>>545251334Who is paying you to post this? It’s been about a month now and it’s obvious it’s paid posting, but who?
I spend like 20 dollars on fast food a day
AI enabled UBI is the only hope
>>545253240Hats a myth try it
>>545251482How much do you spend on rent? In my state, a one-bedroom apartment costs about $1500 a month minimum. And that's on the cheaper end. The only cheaper options are student apartments located on college campuses. Also, you have to remember that when Americans talk about their salaries, they're always talking about pre-tax income. A pre-tax income of $60k is only around $50k after taxes. You live in France, which means you can just use public transportation, you don't need a car, maintenance on the car, gas or car insurance. So that's like another $3000+ a year saved. Americans have to pay hundreds of dollars out of their own salaries every month to pay for health insurance (even when it's 'employer-provided', it still comes out of your paycheck).Europeans have no idea how stupidly inflated the cost of living is here. And no, moving to a crack house in the backwaters of Louisiana is not a solution
>>545249609Then it isn’t the median dipshit.>I noticed the stats are very different if I change them a lot
>>545254413A median for a population of millions is virtually unaffected by the top 1000 people. You're both retarded and don't understand statistics.
>>545253388>everything about self improvement is in relation to the faggot ass economy >people dont even read anymorethat ain't it chief
>>545250180I’ve lived in Europe and the USA. The US is spoiled and rich. It’s a paradise if you have basic budgeting skills. The ones complaining think they’re entitled to a private car to bring every meal to them. They pretend to live “paycheck to paycheck” while contributing to a 401k and paying for their dog to go to summer camp.
>>545249430>Dayum, I make about 1200$ a month in my warehousejob. The eastern european success model is selling cheap components to german companies. Doing 60% of the labor for 30% of the profit. Germans do 40% of the labor for 70% of the profit. This means germans work less hours and are still paid more overall. Its not possible without your sacrifice.
>>545251488If you knew how much waiters make here since 2020, you wouldn’t be saying that.
>>545252745>We don't advise people to go to school just for the sake of going to school, we advise people to go to school to increase the value of their labor via the elevated value of the goods and services they are able to provide to others as a matter of legal licensure, skill, or both. No, we advice people to go to school to get a job. Do you seriously believe actually need 15 years of formal education to become a nurse? For vast majority of jobs where education is a requirement the education itself offers practically no valuable skills at all. The only practical skill education offers is to show that you have the ability to be taught better than someone else, a thing which a 20 minute IQ test could have shown. >but you have only yourself to blame for "tons of unemployed and Mickey D'sIf everyone got a doctorate in what you consider relevant field like medicine or hard sciences then those same hard science and medical doctors would be the ones working in mickey D's and being unemployed and you would berate them for not getting a double doctorate in both medicine and hard science if they wanted a real job. Getting more educated doesn't produce more jobs for educated people it simply raises the minimum education you need for any job. It's a classic crabs in a bucket scenario, getting more education helps you personally at the expense of everyone else and if everyone gets more educated that simply hurts everyone because now everyone is spending money on school they don't need or want. And I was talking specifically about USA here, the thing I'm talking about gets worse the more free the market is.
>Saving $1,200 a monthLOL someone living with mummy

>>545254467You’re the one who fell for some socialist meme about the median earnings dropping to $42000 without the top 1000 people (literally not how statistics work by the way).If you think the median would fall by $20000 by removing 1000 people in a country of 300 million, you are retarded.
>>545247713>Saving $1,200 a month at a 7% real rate of returnstop reading right thereOP is a fucking retard
Bros, I'm really starting to notice more and more stock-peddling shills everywhere. Their entire message boils down to this:>work REALLY REALLY HARD, don't spend money on ANYTHING or spend as little money as possible on yourself and put the rest in retirement index fund that you can't access before you reach 70 years oldI'm thinking this is part of some sort of stealth-bailout campaign since the stock market imploded in 2008 and never really recovered and "stocks" rely on various types of bailouts whether it's government or go-I mean guyim after-tax earnings being routed into stock by a government mandate or a psyop like we are witnessing here. Is it connected to the AI bubble imploding yesterday?
>>545255842There's a huge structural problem with stock investing in particular. Almost all of the growth happens not because people legitimately decide to invest due to good fundamentals of company X or Y but because investment funds and other structures (mostly retirement but increasingly these "passive" put 500 bucks to the stocks from your wage schemes) keep pumping money in blindly. The market can still work if you use it to separate winners from losers but it can no longer provide accurate info on the economy at large or future because the money coming in is blind and happens automatically. This has massive implications for when retirement funds in particular stop investing and start cashing out which inevitably happens as people age. The idea that you could use the current market trends where there's been an excess of workers per retiree and increasing scale of passive investment to predict future 40 years from now when retirement funds have cashed out is insane. You still should probably invest somehow but there's a huge baked in incentive to get everyone investing to fund the exit liquidity of current retirees. There simply is not enough money in existence to cash out the current holdings and never and the pool of new money is shrinking both because there's just less new workers and because existing workers are already capped out in the schemes and simply can't invest more.
>>545247713Roth contribution limit is $7500 a year.However. As a 45 year old American I do have about $1,000,000 net worth which I consider very low for my education level and career field actually.
>>545247713>The median wage is $60,000No it fucking isn't Min wage is like $30,000 with taxes
>>545256116Yes, the shill message boils down to 2 components: 1) don't spend anything and put everything in retirement accounts2) like you said wait 50 years until you can cash out. It's interesting that they completely bypass explaining the mathematical fundamentals of how this scheme is supposed to work out in their mind (probably because they don't want to waste time and money explaining things to guylm since that's going to require more spending on developing new talking points/sales pitches, probably because it's not really going to).
>>545252745>isolated socialist economy like Finland where the unemployment rate is 11% largely because of the anti-capitalistic policies of the Finnish state and E.U. coupled with neurotic isolation from the largest bordering economy RussiaWhat exactly in our policy is anticapitalist? We used to have the biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world. The Nokia Corporation HQ is still located in Espoo, Finland. So is the HQ of ICEYE. Oura Health has its HQ in Oulu, Finland. Hundreds of similar examples. Why are their HQ in Finland and registered here, if we are anticapitalist? Explain that.As part of EU we can choose to take part in the sanctions against Russia, or we can leave EU and NATO and within 2 years fight the occupying Russian army alone.Nobody with the ability to think for himself can be as dumb as you seem to be. I'm calling you a migger or a zigger on vpn. I know there's enough Americans who are as clueless as you but pretend to be experts, however you seem much dumber than that.
>>545254038>work an unfulfilling job doing something you don't enjoy for over ten to twenty yearsWork is a means to an end. NEETs are NEETs not because work is unfulfilling but they literally choose to have no creative, productive ends such as raising a family, owning property, or growing a portfolio or business that work would serve as a necessary means to. They are basically degenerate hedonists when they choose to live NEETdom as a long-term lifestyle. >>545254118Your mom. I'm her pimp.>>545253976You either have to take a personal loan and pay back principal and interest making profits very small, or use margin trading and risk a complete liquidation if your asset plunges temporarily. Why don't you take a course on stock trading? >>545254795>No, we advice people to go to school to get a job. Do you seriously believe actually need 15 years of formal education to become a nurse? Your original argument was that people going to school led to mass unemployment and McJobs but now you argue that going to school can lead to high-paid gainful employment such as nursing, merely contesting as to whether or not the schooling is necessary. You are moving goalposts. Obviously, some schooling is necessary. I can't speak for European frameworks but in the U.S. it takes usually 2 years for most skilled trades. Could it be less? I think so. But people need at least 6 to 12 months before going on the job and they need education along with their work to be effective at what they do. Establishing universities and vocational training centers (whether in-person or distance learning) is just the most efficient way to do this overall.>f everyone got a doctorate in what you consider relevant field like medicineThat's not what I said. I used medicine as an example of vocational education in moderate to high demand. There are thousands of other vocational pathways. And turnover and retirement ensures nobody has to work unskilled labor forever.

>>545256647>What exactly in our policy is anticapitalistGDPR and everything else about the E.U. plus the radically hostile economic stance mandated by the government against the largest neighboring economy, Russia. Socialist unions dictate minimum wages across economic sectors. And I want to circle back to the E.U. in particular to show how that socialist direction is killing your economy, did you know that digital services providers don't even have choice-of-law and choice-of-forum rights in disputes with E.U. consumers? Nobody wants to do business there. Also you charge VAT on digital services so any foreign company that does even 1 transaction in your icebox has to submit burdensome bureaucratic filings to your tax system and pay a 25.5% tax. Lmao!>We used to have the biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world. Key word, "used to". Nobody wants to domicile in a E.U. jurisdiction anymore.
