it's not wrong but it's infantile to ever expect a true free market. Greed has always and will always be a problem of the species
>>
>>545259732
Its true. Every time weve cut taxes for the rich goods and services have gotten cheaper. Stuff is so cheap right now they are practically giving it away. Thanks capitalists! For always passing the savings onto the consumer!
>>
>>545259896
FPBP youre a fucking retard, they can compete for that now but they never have and never will, capitalism has never, ever produced a billionaire class that competes to make your life better. Socialism has more examples of it working than capitalism has done what youre describing (0).

Now go back to r/Libertarians.

In a truly capitalist system, becoming a billionaire would be impossible
>>
Billionaires are billionaires becuase they collude more than thry compete with other richfags.
The prices have been fixed against the plebs since covid
>>
>>545260213
Incorrect. Capitalism gives you the freedom to become a billionaire with your own hard work.
>>
Capitalism means you get 1 company that owns everything and charges what they want. We need some sort of nationalism combined with socialism.
>>
>>545260264
In a truly capitalist system, the competition is to great. That amount of money would never and could never accumulate under a single entity
>>
>>545260346
>Blames capitalism, describes socialism
>>
companies don't compete for shit, they're pseudomonopolies colluding with each both other and the government
The problem isn't that America is "capitalist"(it isn't and it's a meaningless word today), it's that America is a solved game. The winners were decided decades ago and use their resources to lead the public by the nose. Changing things requires winning so many elections across the country that it could never logistically occur. They know the best way to manipulate the bureaucracy to get what they want.
Competition only exists in rough, new systems. Participants always try to eradicate competition one way or another because it's in their interest to do so. Natural selection runs its course and you end up with entrenched corruption, lasting until either it collapses under its own weight or the public gets angry enough to destroy it.
>>
>>545260393
pre-fed American capitalism was probably the best expression of the concept ever achieved but the rockefellers and carnegie syndicates should never have been allowed to happen like they did

This is incorrect. Taylor Swift has a lot of competition but she's a billionaire.

The problem with our country is we need to copy Chinese collectivism for labor. We need to have the ability to build whatever we need so that it gives average folks jobs. This would kind of nerf capitalism by itself.

The truth of capitalism is that the competition is momentary, eventually one party wins, buys everything up and then makes it impossible for new competitors to succeed by using their existing capital to run at insane losses for far longer than a new competitor could hope to match with external funding

>>
>>545260973
yeah thats kind of the problem idiot, when you give power to the capitalist class you make that impossible to win without extreme class warfare
>>
>>545260003
Mistakes are being made.

It's the government's fault really.

The bills are reasonable but people are spending too much money on avacado toast.

Putin has orchestrated it somehow.

The corporations are secretly communist.

It's a natural result of the antisemitism epidemic.

Expensive bills are a good thing because more GDP.

Bills? What bills?

You're poor and you deserve to freeze to death.
>>
>>545261015
So have extreme class warfare. What is so hard about this?
>>
>>545260872
How do you prevent a free market from becoming a "corporatocracy" as you call it? A competition has winners and losers, and winners decide the future.

fair banking is the biggest need. enforceable controls to prevent market manipulation. rules regulating marketing. capitalism is a country the size of the US shouldn't be nationwide. it should be multiple smaller closed markets. something like the NYSE is antithetical to such a system

Admittedly, the American "capitalist" structure was almost immediately corrupted by kikes. The Dodge v. Ford Motor Co. court battle over shareholder prioritization was the final death knell over 100 years ago that ensured actual competition could never be possible.
>>
>>545260264

>it should be multiple smaller closed markets. something like the NYSE is antithetical to such a system
What's to stop a bunch of decentralized markets, from establishing connections, exploiting arbitrage, pricing in those discrepancies, and consolidating into a larger market?
Karl Marx appropriately diagnosed these "inherent contradictions" of capitalism 200 years prior
and now even every blue-haired nimby can point out "late-stage capitalism" when they see it.

masses have been outmaneuvered. you can say they're also now outgunned in terms of modern weaponry. the do violence schtick is a dead end that may have worked in the days long ago. the people who have outmaneuvered the masses can always be outmaneuvered in the exact same way. it requires brains like a military tactician but not necessarily violent reprisal or uprising
>>545261719
>What's to stop a bunch of decentralized markets, from establishing connections, exploiting arbitrage, pricing in those discrepancies, and consolidating into a larger market?
laws, oversight, good governance, enforced consequences. it feels like we're beyond the point of no return but it's all still achievable with proper strategizing, organization and leadership
>>
>>545259732
The billionaires stopped competing decades ago now they carve up smaller companies and territory like a weird amalgamation of corporation and street gang
>>
>>545259732
Do they fight to lower costs? Because they have more wealth than they've ever had yet the prices continue to go up.

Capitalists dont want capitalism. They want monopolies so they can set the price to whatever they want with a complete absence of competition.

>Billionaires competing to lower my bills
This is how children view the world. Billionaires realized decades ago that if they stop competing with each other they can all get richer by dropping the cost of production to the floor while agreeing to never drop prices. That's why everything is more expensive than ever before and everything is built with planned obsolescence in mind to make you buy the same product again but for even more money in a few years. Capitalism is also why every first world country is being flooded with infinity jeets. Once you've dropped the quality of your products to the absolute bare minimum viable product the only way to reduce costs any further is to fire all of your expensive domestic labor and start importing jeets who will work for a fraction of the cost. Capitalism is the most anti-civilizational economic model possible that ONLY benefits billionaires and the jeets they import from Cacastan at the expense of everyone else.
>>
>>545259732
It doesn't matter if you're "pro-capitalism" or "pro-socialism". Capitalism is everywhere and is an inescapable nature of reality.
If you actually think the government is going to somehow rein in the billionaires and corporations THAT FUND AND OWN THE GOVERNMENT, you're an idiot.
"Communist" "socialist" China still has a stock market, ffs.
If the solution is to look at "socialist" countries in Europe, go take a look at what those citizens' heating bills and taxes will be like this winter.
There is no such thing as a free ride.
I DO, however, support confiscating the funds of ANY of and ALL warmongers who support Ukraine and Israel, and giving those monies to the people.
Doing so would NOT fund "the people" (who are stupid wretches) for very long, but it should be done as a punishment to the worst people among us.
Also everyone who is ever on public record having voted for a Democrat or Republican official in Washington should have all their money confiscated.
These ideas would never become reality, but neither would "real socialism".
>>
>>545259732
bills aren't being lowered though? prices aren't being lowered though? what is this fucktard even talking about?
>>
>>545260213
john locke didnt write about capitalism btw
>>
>>545261936
The billionaires lobby to give UBI to niggers to buy their products and infinity browns for labor. If only there was some sort of country prioritization on the political spectrum… call it… nationalism?
>>
>>545262046
>everything is more expensive than ever before
It's not, though. Televisions and other consumer goods are much cheaper. Computers are way cheaper adjusted for inflation than they were in the '80s and '90s. Video games in the '90s were $50-$70 and "should" be the equivalent of like $250 now, but they're not.
I don't disagree with everything you wrote there, but many things are cheaper (or have been until very recently).
This is because of escalating technology, not solely because of competition.
>>
>>545261624
>The Dodge v. Ford Motor Co. court battle over shareholder prioritization was the final death knell over 100 years ago that ensured actual competition could never be possible.
What kind of retarded opinion is that? Forcing a company to be an actual business instead of a charity running on stolen investor money somehow stops competition?
>>
>>545259732
Optics aside they don't actually compete.
They conspire.
Against YOU.
>>
>>545262234
That's mostly because most consumer goods are just spyware now. They'll sell you a TV and fridge at near production cost because all the real money comes from having their devices spy on you and selling all that info to advertisers and security organizations. They'll drop the prices as low as they can on these products because it's more valuable to simply have the device in your house than it is to maximize margins on the sale of the device itself.
>>
>>545261624
Companies aren't charities and they DO owe something to the investors, retard. That's basic capitalism. Nobody forces companies to go public.
>>
>>545259732
the billionaires aren't competing though, they collude tacitly to punch down on SMEs
corporatism isn't the ideal form of capitalism
>>
>>545259732
In reality billionaires just shake hands and agree to raise your bills.
>>
>>545261131
The state steps in to prevent that natural progression.
The state isn't doing a stellar job but things could be a whole lot more monopolistic. The state already does stuff.
In the context of US healthcare, maybe the US could ban 'networks' and force insurance companies to support work at all hospitals (which are deemed 'credible by the gov). That would reduce artificial monopolies

An alternative is for the entire populace to become far smarter, more entrepreneurial, and more motivated, creating astronomic competition. Not going to happen tho.
>>
>>545260763
>Because we don’t have billionnaires running things
The sitting US President is literally a billionaire. You do, by definition, have billionaires running things.
>>
>>545261532
it really depends on how technology pans out
General-purpose personal computing and the internet was a boon for us proles because it was so decentralised and uncontrolled. This allowed prole movements like open-source, OSINT etc. to take root. However, the next big thing, AI, appears to be a lot more centralised and could thus work in the establishment's favour. Even if you have a decent local model, you need a good set up to get some usage, and parallelisation is poor.

Finger's crossed AI ends up being more on decentralised side (perhaps cheap organic computing could save us?)
>>
Honestly, if you want your life to be managed by someone else, why can't it be some aristocrat?
>>
>>545261131
The government uses its monopoly on force to compel any business that gets too monopolistic to break apart and enable competition again. Unfortunately this keeps getting derailed by the fact that corporations have lots of money and can effectively bribe politicians into allowing the corporations to get away with things they really shouldn't, and this continues until things get so bad that the moneyed class can't prevent genuine moral crusaders who refuse to be bribed getting into office and cracking down on various abuses.
>>
>>545260003
They’re colluding
>>
>>545259732
The endgoal of capitalism in its present form is to centralise all capital in the hands of the few who wish to rule over the many.
That makes it identical to communism in function.
There you go, refuted.
