I do. I didn’t grow up with a dad and had zero male role models ever take an interest in me because of the boomer selfishness epidemic. I personally feel like I had to figure out what to do with my life on my own and unfortunately I fucked around and wasted really crucial years because I didn’t realize then how much not actively following my interests would come back to bite me. I always had this sense I had a lot of time, but somewhere around 30 I finally figured out what I should be doing with my life, only to figure out that much of it had already been taken off the table by that point. Because the truth is, you can be successful generally speaking at most things starting from any point at age but some things have to be started young. By the time you’re 30, you have a biography. You are who you are. You don’t get to just overwrite those early chapters of your life and your story just no longer fits certain narratives. And you never get to start a story in the middle. Life just doesn’t work that way. So yeah, I do regret it. I feel like I wasted a lot of my god given gifts and I feel a bit hopeless about the future because of that.
