In the last 18 or so months the youth (read: adults in their mid to late 20s) have become obsessed with what they call "millennial optimism". So much so that dressing like a millennial hipster from the 2000s was one of the biggest halloween costumes this yearIts mostly because they think it looks silly, but also because when they look at old photographs from parties and social gatherings from 10-20 years ago, in their minds they think millennials looked so much happier and had so much more going for them by comparison, because they see their current situation/future prospects as bleak and hopeless.
>from the 2000sThis is literally like 2013 lol
>>545298715Hey, if you really want to split hairs, I lived through it and I don't remember anybody being optimistic at all
this style was recession coded, not optimistic yes 2008 bis repetita is cominghaving kids is brown coded btw
>>545298755>split hairsYou got the decade entirely wrong. You were obviously born in the 2000s, lmao Slide thread
>>545298823?no, I was in college in the 2000s and that's basically how everybody dressed, so I just assumed thats what they were going for. You're the one who decided "millennial optimism" had to specifically refer to 2013 for some reason
>>545298755theeee optimism is basically the idea that when I was a teenager, people kind of assumed that the economy was gonna get back on track and things being shitty was a short term thing. Which is technically correct, no one forsaw we'd have basically 10 years of slow growth, 2 years of good growth and then another 6 years of shit growth and collapsing job market where no one can afford shit.
>>545298634>dress as hipstersNow you look here you young little Y-N stupid nigger, we have enough faggots in this world, the last thing we need is you resurrecting one of the worst batches of them. You put on a hugo boss outfit and you play skit of you gassing yourselves as these fags if you're going larp, or I will physically shit upon you so I can go to jail and bite the first Tyrone's nose off, you hear me you little brats?Put that stuff down you'll catch Aids playing with that, dipshit.
>>545299559Go tell 'em, gramps! Will lecture them about toxic positivity later.
>>545298634I really don't care about what teens do, criticising them as much as people do right now seems weird
>>545298634I want a global conflict and watch all these subhumans die.
>>545299873>lecture about toxic positivitythe fact that I could...
>>545298634It plays into the horror of watching a train without a break slamming into a building of orphans
>>545300052The right is working for you
>>545299919Gotta love how millennials became the very worst version of everything they hate, its poetry really
>>545298634That's pretty funny. Thinking moving to a city, being forced to have roomies, working in a coffee shop because the degree didn't get you hired during a recession and by the time it's over you have no work history is a comfy life. And when people protested the globohomo agenda for destroying any hope for a decent future Israel and their golems infiltrated every political and social movement to undermine them before anyone starts noticing. Then to top it off corporate America laughed as they went mask off on data collection and mass surveillance and the fact that they are all partnered with law enforcement and intelligence agencies. We live in an era where normies are legitimately afraid of expressing dissenting opinions and multilayered coded language has entered the common vernacular.
nothing say millennial optimism like graduating into the 2008 financial crisis and being unable to find a job or afford food. The only people that were having any fun were the ones racking up debt in college. I used to go to their house parties.
Hipster fashion came way later. If they really want to dress how we did as teens they’d be wearing oversized baggy jeans, statement belts, pocket chains and band hoodies with deck shoes.
>>545301300>If they really want to dress how we did as teensI promise you they absolutely don't lol. they think millennials are funny because they think they're cringe. >they’d be wearing oversized baggy jeansbut they literally are doing that part, and they're doing it unironically. like I blinked and somehow jncos are back in fashion. they look absolutely ridiculous, but I'm sure Boomers and Gen X people all thought the same thing 15-20 years ago about millennials, so what are you gonna do?
>>545298634Every generation after the boomers has gotten it worse because of EROEI and boomer narcissism fed by tv
>>545298888>that's basically how everybody dressed, No they didnt. >You're the one who decided "millennial optimism" had to specifically refer to 2013No I didn't.

>>545298634>one of the biggest halloween costumes this yearwhat faggot subscribes to this data stream?
>>545301300That’s 90’s era clothing that you’re describing
