American washer. Fits 2 weeks worth of clothes. Dryer will dry two weeks of clothes. Get it all done in 3 hrs instead of washing and drying clothes twice a week like europoors.

I noticed 1 laundromat in Vilnius, Eastern Europe. Maybe because real estate is so expensive they build these ~30m2 flats where there is even no space for washing machine?
>>
>>545300112
The laundromat is a great place to pick up trailer trash girls. Their boyfriends or husbands are working factory jobs while she’s doing laundry and they’re so lonely and horny. And if you have your own washer and dryer they will treat you like a god.
>>
I'm currently living in the Netherlands but I've moved across 5 different countries over the last 15 years. I use laundromats because washers and dryers are heavy to move and take up a lot of space while moving and not all apartments I've lived in even had the room to put them. In a lot of bigger cities you also have services that collect you dirty laundry and deliver it back to you cleaned, dried and folded so you don't even have to wait for it and you can just work from home while some poorfag is handling your dirty clothes.

modern small apartments don't have the washing machine tubes that you need to install one and it's actually forbidden to use them there, you can still sneak one in because no one is policing what you bring home, but your only option would be to plug it in the sink and that will cause clogging and other shenanigans real fast

Worse than that, because they have 110v and you can't properly power anything on 110v without its motor dying early on, they have top loading washing machines with spin about as fast as one of those plastic hand held lettuce/salad drying devices.

Also, every single person in the US who lives in anything but a ghetto city flat has a washer and dryer. Even most apartments have them in each rented space
>>
>>545303456

Washing machines cleaning mechanism doesnt work by spinning fast. The fast spinning part is just to dry your clothes in the washing machine.
The cleaning part happens due to friction between clothes themeslves + heat + water + soap/bleach. If you spin the machine fast there will be no cleaning at all.

Looks like it's mostly people living in apartments that don't have their own in-unit washer and dryer. Every apartment I've lived in either had them or had connections for them, so I brought my own. People who live in their own homes, even mobile homes, have washing machines. The only time I've used a laundromat was when my washer broke and when I decided to replace it, the new machine was on back order so I had two weeks without the ability to clean clothes at home.
>>
>>545300438
plot twist the cheapest ones and the most expensive ones work on the same principle. Fun thing is my friends ultra expensive washing machine direct drive engine shit stopped working after 5years and my cheapest of cheap Samsung washing machine works last 15years no problem.

they all use the same principle
Washing machine has barrel which spins soaking your clothes in water.

And dryer works on heat pump principle.
If you have some expensive one or cheap one it is the same, some expensive ones have steam washing, but that is just some soi fancy shit anyway.

This is retarded. Laundromats only exist for people living in shared room accomodations or homeless people. Vast majority of apartments all have them in America however laundromats are incredibly convenient to have as that's what people use while getting your machines repaired/replaced. It's supposed to be a bridge solution for when your old machine breaks and the new one hasn't arrived yet or you can't afford it right away.
1 laundromat wash costs about 5€ these days, so with 3 washes / week on average that's 60€ per month, meaning a medium quality machine will pay for itself in 3-12 months depending on how many people live in the household.

A low cost alternative to let the less fortunate still have clean clothes because we treat them as human? Most Americans have their own washing machines at home. And most apartment buildings have either in unit or shared laundry rooms. Laundromats are nice for when you have a bunch of things that need to be washed that would take multiple hours if you are waiting for just your 1 machine to go through different cycles.
>>
>>545309477
>Same demonic realms you get all the nonsense ideas about living in the EU.
except my "nonsense ideas" are statistics you can actually look up and verify. the average dwelling size in the US is twice that of the EU, and it's even larger when you take new construction into account. similarly, washing machine ownership is roughly equal between the US and EU (with a slight edge for the EU), but US washing machines are typically twice as large by volume.
>>
>>545309980
People who do sports or cook regularly. I'm sure people who work need even more since you generate 1-2 t-shirts, 1 over shirt, 1 pants just from the first half of your day for 5 days per week. Then add pyjamas, resting clothes, towels and cleaning fabric, vests hats and jackets + beedsheets once per month. That's 10-14 machines per month.
Perhaps American washing machines hae bigfer capacity? EU machines are capped at 60cm width and usually hold 6-8kg.

I'm off grid powered mostly by solar so I have to be concious of my day to day power consumption. I do have a washing machine, but it's simpler to take a once a month big trip to a laundromat with all the blankets and linens and everything rather than piecemeal wash them and line dry them.

Only those that live in old buildings without the necessary plumbing. Even most of those have been retrofitted by now, or at least have an on-site laundry room downstairs.

Laundromats are mainly used by travelers these days.
