If fertility rates continue to drop, the economy will collapse. Soon the human race will cease to exist. Doesn't this worry you? At best we might regress to life before the industrial revolution, which modern people would find hellish.

it's a big if since natural selection is a thing

That graph just shows that for the vast majority of human history the population has been minute compared to what it is today, and that the current population is completely bonkers and needs to recalibrate to reasonable numbers that are actually sustainable. That will come whether people stop having kids or not. It happens with every other species when they propagate too much. They inevitably face a sharp correction sooner or later. Yes, we've bought time for the relatively tiny period since the industrial revolution, but that isn't gonna work forever. The laws of thermodynamics can't be circumvented.
>>
>>545300688
Bullshit. The problem of sustainability is about consumption, not population. If everyone lived like Indians, the earth could support way more people. This is what we should be aiming for.

The great population loss brought favourable results to the surviving peasants in England and the rest of Western Europe. There was increased social mobility, as depopulation further eroded the peasants' already-weakened obligations to remain on their traditional holdings. Seigneurialism never recovered.

Land was plentiful, wages high, and serfdom had all but disappeared. It was possible to move about and rise higher in life. Younger sons and women especially benefited. As population growth resumed, however, peasants again faced deprivation and famine.

The plague's great population reduction brought cheaper land prices; more food for the average peasant; and a relatively large increase in per capita income among the peasantry, if not immediately, in the coming century.

Since the plague left vast areas of farmland untended, they were made available for pasture and put more meat on the market. The consumption of meat and dairy products went up, as did the export of beef and butter from the Low Countries, Scandinavia and northern Germany.

However, the upper class often attempted to stop the changes, initially in Western Europe and more forcefully and successfully in Eastern Europe, by instituting sumptuary laws. They regulated what people could wear so that nobles could ensure that peasants did not begin to dress and act as a higher-class member with their increased wealth.

Another tactic was to fix prices and wages so that peasants could not demand more with increasing value. In England, the Statute of Labourers 1351 was enforced, which stated that no peasant could ask for more wages than in 1346. That was met with varying success depending on the amount of rebellion it inspired. Such a law was one of the causes of the 1381 Peasants' Revolt in England.

>Econ-cels think that when the populations trending down that it goes down until people literally stop fucking altogether and there's zero humans left

When they say shit like this, this is when you know they know nothing about human relationships and I say this as an autist.

This graph is stupid, the agricultural revolution doesn't budge the world population numbers?

>It happens with every other species when they propagate too much. They inevitably face a sharp correction sooner or later.
Where did you get this idea you fat white cunt? Just a vague intuition? Even your premise is illogical. The planet can handle billions more now and could handle many more billions back then, not some natural equilibrium you hippie faggot

Elaborate. Consume what exactly? Protein? Water? Carbon? Gold?

Why would it? Different animals, same surface area of plant growth.

Good. Capitalism.and the mentality that propels it must end. There needs to be a recalibration of human purpose and our telos.

You were destined for greater things than to be merely a node within a GDP generator.

>Soon the human race will cease to exist.
The human race has survived near extinction events and ice ages in the past, economic collapse will barely be a blip on the genetic radar even if we kill half of earths population.

The girl that told JD about housing cost issue... is correct. Not to mention in US Healthcare as well.

And generally overworked, one worker working for two to save money for profit, paired with lack of security and capable people due to damaged brains. Brains damaged from poisoned food, water, goods, education and propaganda.

And someone expdcts them to reproduce, lol. I guess they too are damaged retards who can't think hence the expectations.

>Arable land on Earth: ~ 3.55 billion acres
>Land required to feed 1 person a healthy diet: ~ 1.5 acres
>Land required to feed 1 person a minimal vegan sustenance diet: 0.5 acres

>3.55 billion acres / 8 billion people ~0.45 acres per person
We only have enough farmland to keep 8 billion people from starving and, at the same time; somehow have food surpluses, with 20-30% of food wasted.

Some of the higher estimates are ~4.6 billion acres of farmland, not that it makes that much of a difference.
The numbers don't add up.
>>
>>545303667
Number of earths that it would require to support them if they were the entire current human population.

Ruminants are upcyclers, they graze on vegetation that humans cannot consume, on marginal land, and turn it into high quality protein for human consumption.
However, this requires nomadic land commons, not land with borders, which is why herders are scapegoated as "barbarians" or "uncivilized."

The bottleneck is Nitrogen and the technology that led to the population boom around 1920 is the Haber process.
Nitrogen, not land, is the historically scarce resource.
On that note though, destabilizing the Nitrogen cycle has been a bigger environmental disaster than Carbon Emissions, but nobody mentions that.
>>
>>545304743
>Ruminants are upcyclers, they graze on vegetation that humans cannot consume,
Good point.

Supposedly we're running out of phosphate to use as fertilizer too, but that depends on who you ask.

a dumbass with no forward thinking won't rase cattle or chickens for meat, eggs, milk they will just eat the cattle and chickens then starve to death
