Have some empathy. They have to pay the associated School taxes regardless. They shouldnt wholly miss out on their benefit just to have the option to decide where their kid goes to school. And you wouldnt want to just hand over a monopoly of anything to anyone, especially the government most of the time. And especially with education, where the effects are only truly recognized a decade later. You need the attentive consumers to make deliberate choices to drive innovation at all.Private schools would be too expensive and underfilled, and they would just spiral down to 0.
