It exclusively tricks out of towners into living "in the heart of downtown" but the loop is actually a business center with restaurants that often aren't even open for dinner because commuters are gone by then. It is basically exclusively for tricking out of towners into a year of rent, but that has since become the eternal jeet. Theyve basically dissolved the apartments plumbing. There's a new team in to try and fix it every few days and they have to open these awful sewage grates and suck shit out of them like weekly at this point (used to be monthly). The entire 4 towers reek of curry and shit unironically, the building vents out a shit and curry smell and it's seeping into sewer grates nearby suggesting the smell is spreading out from in origin point. In the summer the trash chutes get cooked and the smell is beyond description it's so fucking bad. I leave my work clothes in a plastic garbage bag as to not infect my home. Every single one of my coworkers is violently racists towards Indians no matter their personal politics. I try to deal with them on a case by case basis so the ones who grew up here don't get scorned in the crossfire but pretty much every single off the boat Indian is a miserable person to deal with in a customer service setting. And then every once in a while the Mexican staff for a food place nearby will disappear and it'll get entirely taken over by Indians. And then people will stop going there. There is a place called citybird that is offering an eternal buy 1 get 1 because the staff is 100% Indian and no one will eat it

Them not understanding the smell is similar to how some people think they don't have an odor after not wearing deodorant. You start to get used to your own smell but everyone else instantly notices. Multiply that times the conditions of life in india across decades and you get what they have now. They eat with their hands off the floor (or off plates if they are aristocratic) amidst piles of garbage and human waste. It's unhealthy but it's the norm because they've been doing it for so long.
