So this was a Pressurized airplane, and had jet engines. Why would it only have a terminal velocity of 500 ft/second as suggested by the OP numbers? In freefall it should have moved down faster, but the map indicates it did a clockwise spiral, so it was not in freefall the entire drop from 32,000 feet. They lost control over the airplane at some point during the clockwise turn? They would have been better off going straight and attempting a water landing in the ocean?
