why do normalfags feel entitled to others wealth?
>>
Every rich person in California will just move to Texas or Florida or some other chud state that isn't fully third world like Mississippi.
>>
>>545328086
Probably will be rejected but the damage is already done since some high net worth have already moved assets out of the state. It’s a tax that will lose revenue without even being implemented.

If they want to tax the rich they should just make boomers pay property tax for what their home is worth now rather than what their home was worth in 1973. You literally have people in $5M homes paying basically no property tax.

This is just fucking reparations.
>>
>>545328098

Why do you think rolling out a one time tax in California is impossible? Why do you aimpnfor these "self-made" billionaires and multi-millionaires who made their money off their access to public infrastructure, tax breaks, and state funded research.

Zuckerberg actually got more voting power as an agreement with shareholders to stay in California. Which he was willing to do because if he left California being able to you know actually work would be much harder, a move of staff outside of the state would be catastrophic.

Considering the current state of asset management just doing extreme rent seeking on existing assets without creating any new wealth at all we would probably all become wealthier by billionares and corps like blackrock just fucking off. They don’t create jobs, their wealth doesn’t trickle down, they don’t attract new business, they buy up assets and demand a premium from plebs to use them and then spend hundreads of millions to lobby politicians in order to pay 2% lower capital gains tax. The only time they actually spend any money rather than just leveraging their extreme wealth to take our extremely low interest loans

A millionaire tax would be one thing. By that point it’s still possible for you to have most of your money circulating through the economy. A billionare is just hoarding and often times even worse. He’s monopolizing, he’s rent seeking, he’s leveraging his wealth to spend even less money, he’s buying up the competition, he’s buying up politicians, he’s throwing his entire weight behind tiny local elections in order to ass rape tiny towns he has business interests in. You don’t want people with that sort of wealth. You’re not even making money off of them. They’re powerful to the point of them starting to suck the money out of the government
>>
>>545328127
>Taxing the rich is a very complicated and difficult endeavor
only if you let it.
>>
>>545328143
billionaires contribute more than your average rent seeker (an old lady who owns a bunch of expensive property), if they're doing any of the things you're describing that means they're actually investing money and contributing to the economy.
the bad type of rich person is the one that hoards a bunch of wealth in offshore accounts and never does anything with it.
>>
>>545328137

>>
>>545328149
the weakest is the person paying over 50% tax when he should be paying 0% - AKA the french
>>
>>545328145
They don’t. They spend a tiny fraction of their wealth. 1000 people making half a million a year off high tier employment contributes head and shoulders above what a billionaire contributes. Normal rich people aren’t hollowing out the economy. A billionaire reaches his tax cealing before is wealth is even scratched (untill now in California thankfully). Rather he monopolizes markets. The natural end game of ancap.
>>
>>545328153
you're saying they're simultaneously monopolizing markets and not participating in them, it's a tad contradictory
>>
>>545328148
How are you planning on becoming strong in an oligarchy? Rise through the ranks in organized crime?
>>
>>545328154
When have i said that they don’t participate in markets? I started this tangent by stating that people with this sort of wealth naturally hovers towards simply buying up existing wealth and competition
>>
>>545328156
>people with this sort of wealth naturally hovers towards simply buying up existing wealth and competition
which is a completely natural part of any market
if you have a problem with monopolies, you address that with laws that specifically break up monopolies
also, monopolies aren't always bad. the government is a monopoly. it's how you can get investment in areas that otherwise wouldn't have any, more wealth means more incentive for risky investiments.
the job of the government should be to identify which monopolies are useful and which ones are just rent-seeking endeavours.
>>
>>545328147
Let them. As i said. You’re not making money off of these people. You should absolutely incentivize normal rich people to live in your cunt. A person with a net worth of 10 million is closer to being a homeless crack addict than he is to Elon Musk. Just make it law that he has to sell his local assets when he fucks off
>>
>>545328157
>monopolies aren't always bad
Most of them (and oligopies) are bad and do stifle competition and impact costs of living+business costs of other private commerce. If only one or say 3 companies are ISPs in a refion and they all price singalong each other to screw over the consumer there's no way to stop that ottside of regulatory policies and unfortunately in many places like US/Canada or Germany they do have regulatory capture which is equally as bad as state caputre.
>>
>>545328157
Countries like Indonesia has 7 oligarch families that owns the entire nation. They own the government. They own the agencies tasked with regulating them. They own the media. They have a monopoly on everything. They gained this status through their obscene wealth that then had a fraction of it spent towards shaping the entire system to their whim. This is what i mean by them being powerful to the point of them starting to suck the money out of the government. We are absolutely starting to see behavior like this in western countries as well
>>
>>545328159
>Most of them (and oligopies) are bad
I don't disagree, and if anything becomes powerful enough to buy the entire government by itself it should be broken up obviously.
There's value in allowing some monopolies though, as long as they're making headway in useful things instead of simply consolidating power.
>>
>>545328111
the problem with socialism is that they will inevitably lower the bar for what's considered as wealthy to plunder an increasing amount of people then moving onto the next category once they're done looting

Why do Europeans in this thread pretend they never heard of the centuries old traditional tax haven in Europe called Monaco? Rich Europeans have been retiring in Monaco since 1869

Monaco is a sovereign European principality widely recognized as a major tax haven for individuals due to its total absence of personal income and capital gains taxes.

Personal Income Tax: 0% (abolished in 1869, except for French nationals).

Capital Gains & Wealth Tax: 0% on personal investments, wealth, and property.

Inheritance Tax (Direct Line): 0% for parents, children, and spouses.

The French Exception: French citizens living in Monaco remain liable to French income tax under a bilateral convention unless they established residency before October 31, 1962

>>545328191
> which inevitably leads to companies extracting extreme amounts of profit while basically parasiting public and environmental resources
profit can't be extracted you mouthbreathing nigger, profit is determined by customers buying your shit, they're not an inherent property of reality

also, governments are the only parasites of resources, and there's no such thing as a "public resource". the "public" owns nothing, only individuals do.

you need to be brain-dead to think companies using energy and matter thus improving the society they're located in is "parasitism of resources" while the fucking government literally robs people's energy and time by doing nothing, AND sitting on those resources and using them for their own nefarious reasons (like blowing atomic bombs in the atmosphere, or doing human experiments on war prisoners)
>>
>>545328188
monopolies have the resources to achieve things smaller companies cannot
the reason you can use something like google maps for free is because google has a monopoly on ads, SpaceX developed starlink because they developed a near monopoly on launches and so on.
