The most common type is the street drug addict. These are people who are either super mentally ill and evil or they just do extreme amounts of drugs and steal from people and they've burned every bridge with anyone who ever cared about them. This is about 90% of homeless people. The second type of homeless people are the truly down on their luck people who just slipped through the cracks. These are like single moms living out of their car, elderly people on social security in high cost of living areas, etc. A lot of these people are barely homeless, and they'll do DoorDash in a 30 year old car while living out of a hotel or something. This is probably about 8 or 9% of homeless. Lastly, there are the "street kids", "gutter punks", "crust punks", "dirty kidz" and others that call themselves hobos. These are the voluntarily homeless. Many of these kids come from middle class families but they find normal life boring and so they decide to just hitchhike around the country or hop freight trains like hobos of yesteryear. These are by far the most interesting and normal of the homeless people, despite their attempts to be edgy and different. A lot of them know how to play musical instruments and many of them read physical books. They are the entire reason that the musical genre known as "folk punk" exists. They're basically the remnants of actual hippies from the late 20th century, and they had somewhat of a surge in numbers in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Usually what happens is these types are voluntarily homeless for a few years and then they get sick of it and they end up buying cheap property and trying to farm or they get some job and go back into society. But those that do not do that end up morphing into the first type of homeless, the degenerate addict that has burned all bridges. They start out as hipsters basically, and they think that by being homeless they've discovered a cheat code. Instead of spending $1000 a month on rent, they can spend all that money on drugs and booze instead. These people literally sleep under bridges in the cold winter while drinking steel reserve and shooting meth into their veins and they actually think that everyone else but them is retarded. Eventually they do this for a few years, none of their normie friends and family will deal with their shitty attitude anymore, and then they become the first type of homeless. It's a sad cycle
