HOLY FUCK THE SAME EXACT ACCIDENT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE ON LEAR JET

This jet needs to be decomissioned completely!

the learjet in Philly did the same exact thing 20 months ago?

Vertical descent, rapid speed.

Seems like a major design flaw and pilots need to stop flying them ASAP

something is seriously wrong with its aerodynamics and sturcture....

Coincidence? Conspiracy? Noob Pilots? Bad Engineering?

The Learjet-60 is the least safe aircraft in its class. Small jets like that get fucked by weather hard, and the Learjet-60 gets fucked even harder.

yeah this reminded me of it
same script too, as far as the discourse around it goes
>it was a secret AI missile from israel and I'm smart and you're not!
even the footage is similar - it looks like a missile, obviously breaking mach-whatever, never stood a chance
this would maybe indicate to me that lear jets are so aerodynamic once they hit a nosedive that literally nothing can save them
maybe there's a design issue?

but yeah, yeah man
it's somewhat resonant, they might want to look into these incidents to find out if they share more than superficial similarities, def
>>
>>545363749
There was a known issue that should have been fixed years ago
It was discovered in 1999 and it was a very cheap fix but if its been fucked with during maintenance and the visual placards/wiring ID has gone it could easily re-surface
Would literally explain eveything
>>
>>545363668
>LEAR JET
they designed this shit in someone's backyard. all stuff from the 70s-80s is like that. someone designed a civilian F-15 even, and the stabilizers broke off. probably was made of plywood.

or it could have failed, its 27 years old by now

Ice baby ice....the plane flew to cloud which was full of water near zero temperature....and when plane hull is cold than that the water in cloud changed instantly to ice and that ice start growing in plane's hull....enough ice and simply its weight pulls any plane to ground.

its rather computer same as in already removed boeing maxx

Addition...is was pilot error because when pilot noticed than ice start growing on wings the plane should fly quickly lower (to warmer) not to higher (colder).

There was a known failure that stopped the tail section stabilizer working, the heating on the front edge, it got fixed in 1999
This plane should have had the fix out of factory but its still possible through bad maintenance or just a failure

Never use private jets and NEVER go on a helicopter

>>

They will most likely lease them
And yes of course if you use a good company there are less failures
The rig industry in bongland use them for transport, very few accidents but never go on a private/tour one

Learjets have a big Achilles heel in the tail stabilizer and its inability to prevent ice like most commercial jet liners. If you hit turbulence or ice over and you shear off that stabilizer you’re basically a lawn dart. It’s over. You just nose dive and accelerate until you smash into the ground.

They do for various reasons. One is the pilots. Historically commercial airline and military pilots are put through rigorous training and credentialing, while it’s less rigorous for small aircraft and civilian flights. Additionally those large commercial aircraft have features that prevent mid-air disasters from happening which the small aircraft’s which are far more sensitive to turbulence, ice, etc. than they are don’t have.

If boomers never died they might actually care about what happens in the next 50 years. Them dying and nor caring what comes after is exactly the problem
>>
why'd they request altitude right into the storm instead of rerouting to avoid the storm

is this a common mistake or something, like would you reasonably think you could fly up and avoid it that way if you didn't know better or something
shouldn't air traffic control have refused a jet requesting to fly into a storm or do they not have that kind of visibility
>>
>>545363668
>This jet needs to be decomissioned completely!
If only Trump hadn't spent the last 10 years shitting on Bombardier and their much better, cheaper and safer private jets and small planes, Americans could have good alternative to the Lears.

It's crazy to me that Trump refuses to certify Bombardier planes that are 100% made in Canada and the USA, with at least half the total steps in the USA, just because final assembly is in Canada, but is fine with 100% of the sub 100 seat fleet being shitty ass Embraers from Brazil.

When you hit transonic speeds the centre of lift can shift rapidly it’s called Mach-tuck. Combined with control surfaces blanketed in standing shocks that essentially stall them, most aircraft in similar states are going to be very hard to recover if even possible.

To avoid thunder and lightening but this was ice unfortunately
