There are only three words you should ever say over the radio if you have experienced a catastrophic failure>Mayday mayday maydayThis alerts the atc that you are in a critical situation. More information is useful but not necessary. The only reason you call out mayday in this situation is to decrease the time between crash and rescue when your blip disappears from radar. Not that it was relevant in this case though.
