Russians have too many nukes to directly invade. Only possibility is some sort of intervention while Russia is in internal turmoil (that was the logic behind Ukraine project, and why Russians resisted). Of course mentally ill trainwrecks of NAFO will tell you Russian nukes don't work...cause they can't replace tritium...or plutonium...which is of course nonsense since Russia has a huge nuclear industry and nuclear weapons infrastructure, and Russian nuclear arm wasn't defunded even in the chaotic 90's, plus they have the most modern nuclear arsenal out of all nuclear powers (almost all of their shit is from 00's or 10's, completely new delivery systems).

russia has iskanders stationed in kaliningrad. i remember the seething from NATO when they parked the launchers for them out on busy highways during that military exercise. iskanders can take nuclear warheads. russia has the largest tactical nuclear arsenal in the world. most of russias nukes are tactical. the US actually has more strategic nukes (higher yield). that's because russian nukes are designed to actually be used during active confrontation. US nukes are purely there for strategic deterrence, they never expect to actually have to use them in combat due to the US military being so strong conventionally.
Another (and main) issue is complete nuclear overmatch. Poles have no nukes, but French and British do, however they have too few. Russians could credibly just nuke every logistic hub, every military base, ever airbase in Poland, every staging area, and still have most of nuclear arsenal intact. And this is just the nuclear talk. Poland has like 15 brigades worth of troops, most of them aren't really combat ready troops. Ukraine so far deployed like 200 brigades, plus shitload of smaller units (regiments, battalions). If Ukraine can't make Russia budge in Ukraine, what the fuck would 7-8 Polish brigades do, even without nuclear response?
