What do you mean easily? The governor race was like 2 point margin and the senate was 4 points.
Not Floridian but studying this shit from an outside perspective here's what I would say happened.First of all, this year they didn't win easily, the margins were relatively close. Dems didn't support the governor and senate nominees there because it's a Drumpf state they didn't expect to win (senate win in South Carolina was frankly a shocker cause the Dems didn't really give a fuck about it too, I guess Darline Graham was THAT shitty of a candidate).Now why Florida turned out this way, first of all while it was a purple state for a while it was still leaning red, originally because of the panhandle. But eventually Florida became a boomer retirement safe haven, mainly they settle on the Keys (almost all of them are red, only Key West is blue as it is the most famous and also has a large homo community presence lol) as well as the scattered Floridian coast. On the same coast you have a lot of Republican, often jewish, millionaires and billionaires, the kind you never hear about, the kind that you don't know names of and who often don't have Wikipedia profiles about them despite being rich as fuck, they all keep a low profile while being very influential. Lots of real estate magnates I think. On top of that, Miami-Dade metropolitan area has a red tint to it, unusually large for metropolitan areas this massive. This is because of the Cuban and Venezuelan immigrants / descendants of immigrants who very easily fall for the Republican takes about how if Demonrats win the US will turn into the Soviet Union in two weeks.
