why do miggers love data centers so much?

Datacenter brings money from taxes and shit.

Data centers aren't going away, Google is investing $15 billion in building them in Malaysia now that they've been kicked out of America. Banning data centers isn't going to make them go away, it's going to make them go to other countries.

They love high gas prices. They love high grocery prices. All they need now is high utility prices. They want water consumption so high that it costs $5 to take a shower.
>>
>>545618729
Data centers weren't making water prices go up. They don't consume water, they use water as a heatsink to cool the servers. The water then gets pumped back out.

Because we aren't gullible low information retards like you. They are a great way to increase local tax revenues without a corresponding increase in demand on infrastructure. Which is why literally every single municipality in America was doing everything they could to try to bring in data centers until earlier this summer.
The bigger question is why did you suddenly start hating data centers like a month ago, despite them being a common and normal thing for your entire life?
Hint: it's because you fell for a Chinese CCP anti-data center social media psyop campaign.
>>
>>545617588
Unless this election causes the AI bubble to burst, no, PC parts aren't going to get cheaper. Data centers are just going to be offshored. The supply isn't going to go up, and the demand isn't dropping.

But what’s going to happen is they will just build them in conservative states that will eventually attract people as the liberal states get poorer as AI matures
>>
>>545617462
Data centers are desirable because they DON'T create a ton of new jobs. It's just a big warehouse full of computers and sits there and generates $10 million in tax revenue for your town every year.
Compare that to something like an Amazon or UPS distribution facility. The distribution facility will create more jobs, but the additional workers mean a significant increase in infrastructure demands, road repairs, traffic, price of housing shoots up from the workers moving there to work in the distribution center, etc.
They both have pros and cons, but it's not as simple as just "dey don't make a lot of jerbs."

Monarchies are the natural state of human governance. We've had a 250 year experiment without monarchy and it looks like we're going to collapse. Hopefully, like Rome, we get an emperor out of it instead of eternal decay like Brazil and South Africa.

Getting taxed more isn't the end of the world, I guess.

Gas prices had gone down and price *increases* had largely stopped after late 2023-early 2024. Nongas prices didn't go down but didn't go up either.

We have about 5k years of recorded human history, and out of that, only a handful of civilizations for a handful of centuries managed a non-monarchical form of governance. Rome had a monarchy for 250 years followed by 400 years of Republic and 400 years of Empire. Japan? Monarchy. China? Monarchy? Mongols? Monarchy. Russia, Sweden, Norway, England, France, Spain, Arabia, Ottomans, etc? Monarchy.

Even the Greeks only had a handful of Democracies, and Athens got flattened by Sparta, a monarchy.
>>
>>545619348
>electricity
If your local politicians and officials aren't complete morons, they will negotiate with the company that wants to put in a data center to make them pay for any increase in demand.
Google just made a deal with Georgia Power where Google will finance massive upgrades of 4 nuclear reactors that will add 96 MW of power generation capacity to Georgia’s power grid. This is expected to work out to almost a billion dollars in projected benefits to Georgia Power customers.
>water
Virtually all data centers use closed loop or dry air cooling. They use little to no municipal water for cooling the servers.
>>
It kind of makes sense that they’ll pretend the democrats stopped some future progress, when in reality AI is useless and the bubble is popping, this will help them inject lobbying funds to keep RAM prices artificially high for another couple years
>>
>>545620159
We were already taxing data centers. Now we won't have data centers to tax in a lot of jurisdictions and the local taxes will be made up by taxing the locals more.

Look at Virginia after 2025. Democrats immediately passed 17 different new taxes. Every state with Democrats in charge that banned data centers is going to get taxed. Texans will be paying California taxes by 2030.

The highest concentration of data centers in the entire world is in Loudoun county Virginia. At one point, 70% of the world's entire internet traffic passed through servers there.
Loudoun county is also the richest county in the entire United States.
The data centers did not directly make everyone there rich, but the data centers did make it possible for Loudon county to have an extremely high quality of life with good schools and infrastructure and amenities, while also having some of the lowest property taxes in the region.
Data centers are just big boxes sitting in an industrial part of your town that no one was living in anyway, that just sit there and generate tens or hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue for your town every year. It's as close as you can get to an actual infinite money glitch in real life.

Depends on what you classify as human society. Hunter-gatherer tribes are the pre-governance human norm, but in societies with governance -- which I would say are one in the same, you can't have an ungoverned society -- there is, more often than not, a monarch.

Even today we have actual monarchies. China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea are monarchies by another name. I know China and Russia LARP at having elections, but Rome also had elections even during the Empire.

In the long term, everyone is fucked anyways, but you're trading short term benefits and long term pain for short term pain and long term pain.

The AI bubble needs to burst before anything gets better, and it's not going to burst from banning new data centers from getting built in America.
>>
>>545621000
They only poll you when there's an impending Data Center.
Then the City invites everyone to vote on it; even though the decision was already made and the cash has changed hands. It's happy for everyone (who matters) if it's Yes, and awkward if it's resounding No and it gets built otherwise.
Like having a massive crypto mining facility built in your city, it's of debatable benefit to anyone, and a useless eyesore once Tulips aren't worth their weight in gold.

You are saying that, and you believe that it is true, but it is wrong. You think data centers are some shady new thing, or some kind of bubble or fad or scam. But that's just because you are a low information person who doesn't actually understand this stuff nearly as well as you think you do.
Data centers have been around for a long time, they started being very common around the early '90s when the internet was first getting big.
All of the finances and risks and revenue and all of that stuff for building a data center somewhere is all very well understood. You don't understand it, but the people working out these deals to build data centers understand all of it very well.

It's because it's a recently built-out suburb (as recently as the 2000s it was a Bush-voting suburb of like 200k people) and is mostly White and Asian.

Not because of server farms. The server farms are downstream of it being undeveloped land next to the nexus of all the US intelligence agencies when the Internet was being built.

white people think the government is god

>>
>>545621046
Local county government provides services to residents (roads, water, sewer, schools, police, fire, etc).
Services cost the county money.
The county charges all of the county residents property taxes to get money to pay for the services.
Data centers pay a LOT of taxes, but don't use a lot of services.
This means the residents of that county can pay significantly less property taxes and still have the same or better quality of services.
None of this has anything to do with speculative "line goes up" magic at all, and the fact that you seem to think it does just tells me that you are also a low information person.

I would think that the Democrats would desire to avoid the mistakes their enemies just made, and don't have a Trump-like cult of personality to force them into it like Trump did with MAGA.

Think open-source vs closed-source: anyone can fork Woke, so if a patch ruins it, you can switch to another distro from another semialigned institution. Usually. Whereas if Microsoft ruins a new version of Windows and deprecates the old one, you have no recourse.

It's not a perfect analogy, but close enough.

AI is not going anywhere, it's not a bubble, and they are going to build the data centers somewhere. >>
>>545622406
>not possible. subservience is a white genetic trait. it's in their DNA
That "subservience" to the state is built into White, Middle Eastern, and Asian societies because it's required to make societies function. Those that were too unruly didn't form strong enough societies and got conquered by those that could function in an empire.

Good schools and infrastructure come from the people living there (and the tax base their wages represent). There are kids in the city which is the center of global finance, with tons of money spent on them, who can barely read.

>Anon, those jobs started leaving in the late 60's and early 70's and were gone well before even Reagan left office.
They left Gary and Detroit because of race riots, but they didn't leave the country at that point. Thomas Sowell writes about this. The negro riots led to those regions becoming impoverished.

>The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) entered into force on January 1, 1994. The agreement was signed by President George H. W. Bush on December 17, 1992
Bush already lost the election at that point and Democrats had a trifecta and didn't need any Republican votes to pass it or turn it down.

Even though the Democrats lost seats (due to redistricting), they still had an overwhelming majority in Congress. NAFTA might have been negotiated by Bush Sr, but it was passed by a Democrat Congress and signed into law by a Democrat President.

Let me put it another way: if both parties hollow out like that in a short period of time, that increases the probability of mass discontent against the system itself; channeling that discontent is the point of the two-party system in the first place.

Unless the two-party "democratic" system is being subjected to controlled demolition, or the Democrats are so short-sighted they couldn't see their own fingers poking their nose, this won't happen.

Arabs certainly do, that's why they were conquered by the Ottomans for 400 years. Racial nepotism leads to societal stagnation because you can't get anyone talented in a position of authority. That's why India got steamrolled by a company from the UK.

Japan, meanwhile, adapted to the new technologies incredibly quickly and rose to be the 2nd largest economy on Earth until recently. They didn't get there by being nepotistic.
