I shouldn't even be saying this because I don't want my hobbies to become associated with the right wing, but cycling is absolutely wonderful. It gets you outside, it's good exercise, it clears your mind, and it's fun as hell. It's just really great. Also you have a much stronger connection to your community when you're physically out in it the way you are on a bicycle. You can see your neighbors, and your neighbors see you, and you start making friends, or at least strong connections with the people you live around because it puts you closer to them.
