His early ministry operated entirely within the framework of Second Temple Judaism where he functioned as a Rabbi and debated the correct interpretation of the Torah. He was disgruntled because he thought that the Torah wasn't being practised correctly and his goal was not to start a new Religion but Reform Jewish practices. After his death his followers then created a Religion based around his "teachings". Christianity views itself as a fulfilment of Judaism through the New Covenant established by Jesus the king of the Jews. Basically all Christians are just wannabe Jews.
