It's actually happening for sure. Iran supplies 90% of China's oil, there's no clever trick or method print oil out of thin air. Once they run out, it's over for them. China has coped so far on the reserve, but it has been almost a year, they are on tank bottoms, they only have mere weeks of oil left. They could run out before the end of the year

China is also the least reliant on oil refineries for diesel as they built an overcapacity of coal to fuel chemical plants which I assume are all up and running now as the price of oil needs to be above 70 - 80$ a barrel to make running them economically viable.
