AEWbruvs what happened?
>>

Too much gay stuff.
>>
>>20472713
No milly for backlash on ESPN 2?
No 500k for NXT?
>>
>>20472723
What does that have to do with AEW?
>>
>>20472713
England is the last place on Earth that likes that wink-wink self suck dogshit that AEW specializes in so this is actually fucking grim beyond belief
>>
>>20472713
They should have just booked the Arena or somewhere in Scotland/Norf. Running London every year is retarded. I ain't going to fucking London and I live in the UK
>>
>>20472713
Fuck London.
>>
>>20472713
You can't go back to the same stadium every year, it loses its luster. That said, I think they'll still hit 40k and I think it's important for them to do this stuff for TV. I think going to Craven Cottage would have made more sense? They went to Manchester for Dynamite and sold out but it's not Wembley.

40k is a good number if they can hit it. But they should look at somewhere else in the future - I don't think they can hit that number in the US.
>>
Surely they could have done a nice 30k arena somewhere besides London again? I get Ospreay is from there but as long as it's in the UK people will travel. Traveling to London fucking sucks and the city is a shithouse.
>>
>>20472747
They didn’t go back to the same stadium every year you retard. You must be British.
>>
>>20472747
They could and maybe should try in the US, but they'd have to build it up as THE EVENT for months in a similar way and got for 30-40k. I don't think AEW has much penetration elsewhere. You could probably do something serious with NJPW in Japan, but that'd mostly be NJPW.
>>
>>20472781
Kek the only reason they didn't do Wembley last year is because they got cucked by Coldplay. Otherwise they did it in 2023, 2024, and are doing it again in 2026. That may as well be every year
>>
>>20472781
This is the third time they have been there in four years.
>>
>>20472713
Honestly nothing and that's the problem. AEW still sucks more than WWE sucks.

It's crazy to me how AEW not only failed to capitalize on the 2019 down period of WWE where everyone hated the product and was looking for an alternative but here we are again where WWE has massively fallen out of smark favor and AEW still cannot capitalize on the exact audience they cater to
>>
>>20472713
It happens if you are too retarded to run the same venue over and over and over, you will eventually burnout the market
>>
Unironically why didn't they go to Glasgow, Manchester or Dublin?

Made the mistake of running the same venue for the same show year after year. There's a reason WWE only went back to back twice, and both times it was worse off for it. Wembley should be used once or twice a decade

I just don't get how Tony doesn't get it with the UK. The reason the first All In at Wembley was such a huge success was because it was the first show AEW had ever done in the UK. You had an entire country of wrestling fans who hadn't gotten to see a lot of those names live before no less the AEW brand altogether. You get that one time and one time only. Beyond that it's diminishing returns and immediately the next year it wasn't nearly as special. Why he's trying to turn it into some kind of tradition when he's already missed a year, no less when he damn sure doesn't have the drawing power to fill even half of the building, is beyond me
>>
>>20472853
They were the same 50k retards on both nights btw. WWE has a dedicated fanbase of the stupidest people alive, AEW doesn't.
>>
>>20472856
it’s not just the same stadium though. this is a venue to attract the entirety of Europe as they don’t tour there. these numbers just show a lack of interest from the entire continent. it’s so easy for people from all over Europe to attend a London show. Not just bongs. AEW is dying.
>>
>>20472868

Tony doesn't seem to get this, but WWF's business in '92 (the year Kevin nash got raped) was domestically in the shit, Vince probably ran Wembley as an emergency button to make himself look big-time because his domestic business was in the pisser.
You don't revisit Wembley, you get the one time novelty pop to make yourself appear like a big deal momentous fed and you dip. Tony revisiting has been fine for the houses but terrible for the year-on-year visuals, 50k in Wembley in 2024 is like 2/3rds of what a struggling high school gym running WWF did in '92 and now he's struggling compared to THAT?
Just embarrassing, no sense.
>>
You know what I'm just going to guess that by the time we get closer to all in and the card is fully announced they'll get to around 50k and all the concern trolling itt will look retarded but you know that's just like what happens every single time so I mean I could be wrong but you know I'm probably not wrong
>>
>>20472891
If they break 30k it's good, 40 is great, 50 is fantastic. But they need to figure out this Will Ospreay shit now. I know it's what AEW does, but he didn't get anything from going 15 against Ace Austin as the new born killer
>>
>>20472713

50k for Wembley is dogshit.
>>
>>20472713
>The OVO Arena Wembley has a seating capacity of 12,500
>>
>>20472713
i think it was a mistake to run wembley again.
they should do one big UK show a year, but it doesn't need to be all in every year and it doesn't need to be at wembley every year. keep it fresh.
all in probably should have been in america again this year but not texas after the poor turnout last year.
i think it would have been better to give the UK double or nothing at either the O2 if tony wanted to stay in london or the AO arena or co-op live in manchester if he wanted to try a different market. then for all in, they should have tried for yankee stadium or citi field in new york, which has traditionally been a pretty under-served market for AEW. this DON is the first proper AEW PPV in NYC.
i guess that doesn't align great with belting ospreay up but i don't think that's worth sacrificing so many tickets for.

>If they break 30k it's good, 40 is great, 50 is fantastic.
LMFAO
The capacity is 90k. Filling 1/3 of a stadium is not "good." Your bitchass why just crying about how WWE and Wrestlemania failed this year because they "only" sold 50k seats out of 70k
40k is not "great" either because that's still less than half of the venue. 50k which they only ever got up to that first time would still suck when you consider the size of the stadium
Bottom line is AEW has no fucking business running this place and the only reason they do is because of Tony's ego
>>
>>20472941
Nah it'll be way cooler when aew puts 50k in wembley and makes the dronies have a meltdown
>>
>>20472964
You're arguing that AEW is equal to WWE when you say this. Are you sure you want to say that?
>>
>>20472933
Different feds, different eras, different stadiums.
A domestically weakened WWF in 92 did 72k, a domestically shaky AEW in 2023 did 71k
Will it be a financial success? Sure, but drawing around half capacity to a stadium which has a novelty precedent of 70k~ doesn't really reflect well.
2024 already looked pretty bad.

Meltzer is already saying that anything above 30k is good, which tells you how bad things are.
>>

50k for the number 1 promotion on home soil... not so much

Wrestlemania 42 was one of the most profitable nights in wrestling history. It absolutely was a success. But I also hold WWE is the gold standard of all this, I do not expect AEW to be at their level in terms of popularity.
>>
>>20472990
AEW theoretically fills 55% of a stadium

WWE actually fills 75% of a stadium back to back nights

This is the problem with trying to make annual events to copy WWE/WCW instead of only putting on big shows when the demand and booking actually justify it
What's the big AEW storyline? There is none. Why buy a ticket to an off brand wrestlemania?
>>
>>20473008
Why you so mad bro everything is great for dronies right now right... or no...
>>
>>20473026
Yes, If AEW hit 30k it would be good. The number of wrestling promotions that can hit 30k even once a year is staggeringly small, As hot as AAA and CMLL are, I genuinely doubt they're hitting 30k for a show.

AEW just keeps keeps getting worse and worse so of course their ticket sales keep plummeting. Running Wembley again after sales imploded from 72k to 46k last time is fucking retarded. Anybody could've seen this coming except for autistic gay paki dogwankers I guess.

>>20472747

>>
30k in a 90k building is good
>>
>>20473044
>Yes, If AEW hit 30k it would be good.
It wouldn't though. Forget about the stadium capacity as well as WWE and that's still a really bad number even by AEW's own standards. They did 70k the first year. 70k. They did 45k the second. How would less than 50% of your own previous audience be considered good?
>>
>>20473049
But I thought they were competition? If they're competition why shouldn't they be judged the same? Why are we granted AEW this imaginary leniency? Did they not force NXT to Tuesdays? Did they not sign a bunch of WWE names? This type of inconsistent fair weather bullshit is exactly why no one takes AEW cult members seriously

>>
>>20473061
Yes, because it's THIRTY THOUSAND tickets sold. I'm not going to compare the 3rd time through to the first time ever. I think it's fair comparing it to 2024 though. But they're gonna have their third highest attended show in company history at a minimum here, I can't twist that into being a negative.
>>20473071
AEW is a clear second. Main roster WWE is far and away the more popular and successful product. I get that you missed the Monday Night Wars, but this doesn't compare. One company has the backing of the leader of the free world, and the other is the kid of an NFL owner.
>>
>>20473082

They are the same as any team in a league is a competitor to every other team in that league, competition doesn't mean parity

Yes, but even then, AEW numbers didn't go up that much, a meaningless victory, bragging rights at much

Agreed. I don't know why they didn't put the belt on the dude years ago already. Tony is too retarded to ever look past his tunnelvision. I'm sure he wants to do a big moment at Wembley but look at what it's cost him. Congrats you'll give Will Ospreay his crowning moment in front of a 30% filled Wembley staidum
>>
>>20478237
Ospreay was only ever mildly over though and Moxley hold the title hostage did help things.

>How bad has it gotten?
It's an actual hassle. I had to go down to meet a client, down in a day up the next day. I flew in to Gatwick
>Flight was delayed in landing so had to circle for 30 minutes
>The pajeet security crew directing people through the scanners didn't know what they were doing
>Get Uber in to town, a Muslim guy picks me up and drives while checking his crypto stash every 2 minutes
>Go to Hotel in Putney, the Muslim receptionist doesn't speak English and I need to wait for the manager (white) to sign me in
>Go out for a late breakfast, don't see a single white face
>Two people in 10 minutes bump in to me and I think try to steal my shit, thankfully have my stuff in an inside jacket pocket
>Get accosted for cheap jewelry and stolen phones 4 times
>Streets are absolutely filthy
>Go to different hotel meeting room to meet client
>Pajeet behind the counter doesn't speak English and thinks I'm here for a room, 3 minutes to explain my company booked a meeting room
>Do meeting
>Go back to hotel, see the absolute state of the streets and traffic, again no white people, the whole city stinks
>Go out to dinner at a fancy restaurant which surprisingly has white people in it and serving, only positive experience
>The noise is unreal
>Contemplate spending £300 on a last minute flight back home because this is literal hell
>>
If another fake pandemic hits and they do lockdowns again I think wrestling might not survive

Is it not concerning that the market leader is within closing distance of the runner up? AEW doing, theoretically, 40k in that stadium puts it 20% away from what WWE did at Mania

>>
>>20483973
If you wait a bit longer, those tickets will be free. Tony has papered the shit out of every Wembley show so far. If you're brave enough to wait for the day of the show, you'll be able to get as many tickets as you like.
>>
>>20473050
>AEW just keeps keeps getting worse and worse so of course their ticket sales keep plummeting. Running Wembley again after sales imploded from 72k to 46k last time is fucking retarded.
THIS. I believe tonys original intent was to try to find a very large venue outside of the traditional wwe stranglehold. he wanted to break the attendance record for a wrestling show, but his idea failed. dont know why he insists on going back to such a large arena when its obvious they are never again going to come close to their initial attendance in that arena, there is nothing special about this coming event either
>>
>>20484326
Yeah I remember. The last Wembley show he gave away 20,000 free tickets, it was supposed to only be for like EMS workers but it was for everyone, just had to put in the code and pay the $4 processing fees
>>
>>20472713
They can only ride the novelty train so many times. None of the All Ins lived up to the hype as classics, because they're just normal AEW PPVs in a big stadium. Where old school WWF took off was making every Wrestlemania have its own theme and gimmick. They also numbered them, which makes them easily referenceable. "Oh yeah, remember WM9? 14?" It sticks in your head.

And they all (used to) feel like big boxing PPVs or football finals. Pre-PPV discussion and speculation about what wrestler's gonna do what, how this all came together, and more. All IN, they just start the PPV. No build up, no 'pageantry', no performers, no hot dancers or super famous singers doing national anthems. For all his markism, how can Tony not know why ALL IN isn't anywhere close to even Wrestlemania 4.

Are they though? Look at the price of WWE tickets to even just NXT compared to a Dynamite. Now look at the price difference from Wrestlemania compared to All In. They aren't comparable at all. Even if Tony fills all 90,000 seats at Wembley which obviously is never going to happen, it still wouldn't make as much money as one night of Wrestlemania no less two
>>
>>20490952
the first All In "sold" 81,000 tickets and made about $9-10M gate
Each night of WrestleMania this year did $25-30M, and that doesn't count site fees, tax breaks or sponsorships

Fitting X number of fans into an arena or stadium does not a success make.
>>
>>20490987
WrestleMania 41 gate was $66 million. All Tarps at best was $3 million

Unironically the second All In should have been a line in the sand for him that Wembley is a mistake. Would have preferred he held it in Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin, etc. London fucking sucks.
>>
>>20525712
>They burned the bridge with a lot of fans
I dunno. There's still a lot of hype in the UK but it can't always be Exfed and British guys that are your main draw. On top of this, going back to London 4 years in a row is retarded.

I think he needs to understand the UK market. The mentality here is that all these British guys such as Ospreay, GYV, etc, we're used to seeing in small venues for £10. That mentality is still there. In terms of the Exfed guys, he also needs to study exactly what WWE did to the British scene 10 years ago - wrestling fans holding not just WWE but also the Exfed guys accountable for the culling of the British wrestling scene. When he did that show at the hydro and didn't have big hitters like Kenny etc on it, it was a very stupid thing to do.
>>
>>20526925
There is zero hype for AEW in the UK tranny
>>
>>20526895
>May
It's May 24th today slapnuts. All In is August 30th.

June to July is one month
July to August is one month.
