>NJPW>NOAH>DDT>TJPWOk what the fuck? Why are the Umamusume people buying all of Japanese wrestling?
>>20550727What?Elaborate I haven't hear about this(but I assume they saw what bushiroad did with Stardom)
>>20550727cornering the market of an entire industry in your country sounds like a good strategy to me. that horse money doesn't stop
>>20550727At least we still have GLEAT and PPP
>>20550737Cyberagent has been buying Japanese wrestling companies for a few years now. NJPW is the latest acquisition. Meaning they have the top men’s promotion, the second biggest men’s promotion, the second biggest Joshi promotion and the top comedy promotion. All they need is a deathmatch promotion or to buy AJPW and they’ve got every genre of wrestling
>>20550771Damn so Bushiroad sold NJPW?So they have only stardom now?
>>20550727probably planning on merging them or just owning every promotion so even if one doesn't make money they get money from the others
Cyberagent and Cyberfight are not the same
>>20550771I really hope this means no more NJPW collaboration with AEW. Fucking killed the company
>>20550821They belong to the same group and are sister companies
>>20550826they're not sister companies. cyberfight is their subsidiary
>>20550814>4 companies with various niche audiences>let’s merge them and it make it one big clusterfuck of mushThis is despite the fact TJPW and DDT are the profitable ones of the 4
>>20550826It's not hard to google and read a wikipedia article.Cyberfight is former DDT, which is why Cyberfight boss was Takagi and now is Akito. Like >>20550844 said it's a subsidiary, which doesn't mean that NJPW is under Cyberfight umbrella, like DDT/NOAH/TJPWBeing CyberAgent its his own thing.
>>20550727>Allowing one massive monopolyPfff, based Japan I guess
>>20550771They sold NJPW without Stardom? Why? Joshi wrestling isn't more profitable than men's wrestling
>>20551047it actually is
>>20551047bushiroad doesn't want to give up those joshi coomer cards
>>20550727So the yakuza that had a wrestling gig sold said wrestling gig to the yakuza that controls virtual horse racing?
>>20551125the yakuza are a meme, they have no power anymore
>>20550771>Meaning they have the top men’s promotionThe nicest thing anyone's said about NJPW in years
To be clear here, CA owns around 46% of New Japan now, the same amount TV Asahi now owns, with the rest being owned by a talent agency and some individuals. So NJPW won't be put under the CyberFight umbrella and is kept as a completely different entity.
>>20551138In Japan they’re still number 1. WWE is still a meme option, AJPW is trying to rebuild for the 50th time and NOAH is keeps shitting the bed whenever it builds momentum. Stardom is their biggest competition, a fucking Joshi promotion
>>20550727The power of Horses
>>20551047Stardom has shown YoY growth, far lower operating costs than NJPW, higher attendance than almost every non-NJPW promotion in JP & likely brings in more money per fan via merch. No shit it's the one you try to keep.
>>20551267Uma gimmick in NJPW when?
>>20551463yes because simps make for very reliable customers. there may not be as many joshi fans but each one is probably spending more than most.
More likely that Bushiroad was looking to offload NJPW then CyberAgent was looking to gobble up promotions. Once NJPW became available, how could they turn it down? Chances are the immediate strategy is an overhaul-improvement of NJWorld and potentially consolidating with WrestleUniverse. Wrestling in Japan is in the doldrums and retreating to its corner. It needs to team up, especially when WWE is on Netflix Japan. It's not that WWE is poised to become number 1 in Japan but their presence is constant and looming
>>20551047As soon as BR has milked every last Yen they can out of Stardom and have sold/run off the better pieces of their roster, they'll happily sell the remains for peanuts.
>>20553008I dont know why this is mysterious to anyone, its obvious why bushiroad chose to sell right now. its because theyre coming off a pretty big win with that tokyo dome show, and they obviously know that they are NOT going to get another win like that. they wanted to exit on a high note rather than bowing out in shame, and this was probably their last chance to do so. in other words, they decided to quit while they were ahead. instead of capitalizing on the huge momentum from WK, they put all their eggs in the callum newman basket and that was retarded.
