Now that the dust is settled, let's rank Darby's title defenses. 1. MJF at DoN - Lived up to the hype. 2. Ciampa - I was late to the party with RoH and don't watch WWE/NXT. This guy is extremely good in-ring. 3. Brody King - Best Darby underdog defense. Thought my dude was going to die.4. PAC - Tbqh senpai, PAC shits out great matches. Even on golf courses.5. Kevin Knight - Looking forward to this feud continuing. 6. Speedball Mike Bailey - Loved the guy since TNA but this was the 2nd least great title defense.7. Sammy Guevara - Love Sammy but his career has been spiraling since dumping Pam.
>>20552242>MJF, Ciampa, Brodie King, Pac, Kevin Knight, Goodmatch Squeezeball, Sammy Guevara
>>20552242>shitter defends against other shitters>loses after a monthWow that is impressive
>>20552242How is only 7 defenses in 39 days nonstop and ALL-TIMER? Sports entertainment and guys like Brock only wrestling a few times a year really mindbroke people I guess.
>>20552242You forgot Takeshita which was the best match.
>>20552242What was the point of putting the belt on Darby at all? Why take it off the fucking Jew in the first place? How is any of this good booking? Everyone comes out of it looking like a retard and the championship loses any prestige it might have had.
>>20552402get darby a win in his hometownget MJF a win on his home islandit was pretty unexpected but ultimately welcome
>champion for barely a month>beat a bunch of cans and shitters>lose to super MJF>will go back to doing garbage matches again
>>20552409Again why did they need to put the belt on Darby? All of that could have happened without hotshotting the belt around
>>20552409This doesn't really do anything for anyone long term though. It just makes Darby look like a fucking retard and they're going back to Max as a safe option.
>>20552341FUCK! I would have put that 1b to MJF's 1a.
>>20552471It fits into the modern locker room morale "you deserve it" kumbaya hand holding stuff that also led to Kofi Kingston becoming champ. We're also at peak quest for viral moments and short term attention.
>>20552242>AN ALL-TIMER RUN!>Literally just a bunch of midcardersAEW stans are fucking delusional.
>>205524021. Grab some press during WM season. 2. Showcase him putting on banger title defenses while the WWE fans search for an alternative after disappointing show after disappointing show. 3. He was always going to get a run with the belt. Darby should have beaten Mox but was too busy planting the AEW flag and doing Guiness world record kick flips on Mt. Everest. 4. Allow MJF to become a 3 time champion, winning the title close to his hometown5. Have two of the 4 pillars now be former or current world champions. I love Darby but disagreed strongly when he squashed MJF for the belt. However, after seeing where they went with it, ate my crow and asked for seconds.
>>20552661I don't watch WWE so I'm asking in all sincerity, how is their world title picture looking comparatively?
>>20552339ARBY ALLEN! My friend Sting, and Dave, Dave Meltzer, both told me you are one hell of an athlete. One tough son of a bitch. They told me you climbed Mount Everest faster than the ladies used to climb Space Mountain. Then I heard some marks praising you for seven defenses. I said, great, seven in seven days, keep it up kid. They said no Nature Boy, little Arby did seven in a month. I'm gonna have to call my good friend Tony. You need to walk that aisle every night pal. No time for skate boards, no time for arcade machines, no time for whacking off! Woooo!
>>20552703I read this in his voice. >ArbyReally nice touch, senpai.
>>20552402>What was the point of putting the belt on Darby at all?To pad MJF's world title numbers. As if AEW belts matter
