Maybe you could cut it off and say "no matches the night before a PPV", but injuries really do happen at any time. I feel certain that if you told wrestlers "no matches 3 weeks before the PPV", we'd still end up with same amount of injuries.

Fatu in particular is always a risk because he does some flying stuff while being a heavier guy. It's no big deal for Tozawa to get thrown around. He's 150lbs soaking wet. Fatu's a lot heavier.

WWE's other problem is that these PPV's only have 5 matches on them. If someone gets injured on a 9 match show, you've got 8 other matches. If someone gets injured before WWE PPV, you've only got 4 others. It's not enough.
