Reminder: if El Grande Americano gets less than 5.5 stars tomorrow, he's the KWAB of the year.
>>

>92
dear oh dear
>>
>>20606670
Wait wait wait wait wait, is there something I should know about that number? The number being 92 btw.
>>
>>20606662
>A match no one saw
Both of those guys have KWABed themselves for Meltzer stars
>>
>>20606662
Wow, the guy that's constantly overrating anything AEW related gave an MJF match 5.5 stars. I'm fucking shocked.
>>
>>20606662
Why does it take Dave a week to rate a match?
>>
MJF vs Mistico attendance: 16,500
El Grande Americano vs El Grande Americano attendance: 8,200

If drones lose in Meltzer star ratings, they've lost in everything sadly
>>
>>20606662
It was a good match. Dave will give it 5 stars or more.
The real question is when the dronies will finally figure out Dave doesn't have favorite companies as much as he has favorite styles of wrestling.

Dave loved Black and Gold NXT because it was workrate Indy style. Same reason he loves AEW.
Dave hates WWE's standard """""""""style"""""""" because the wrestling is an afterthought. As Cornette said, "WWE has always been about the sizzle, not the steak."
>>
>>20606662
Fuck off with the AI art. Even Tony can't be stupid enough to demand the exact same format after EGA match.
>>
>>20606662
funny because in Cagematch this shit isn't even top 50 of the current decade. Why Meltzer gave it such a big rating?
>>
>>20606705
the newsletter always comes out on friday
i think dave was on vacation last week so he didn't rate anything and it might feel longer (or that might have been the week before)
>>
>>20607561
Because his agenda is to hype up Místico, Místico probably has some program in AEW and Meltzer is doing the promotional work
>>
>>20606813
Whatever your say pork tits

So I STUDIED CAGEMATCH and did the numbers based on Cagematch ratings and they're quite interesting.

We take into account only the top of this decade considering Meltzer rates different now than in previous decades.

If you reach the top 50, its still very open. Also plenty of matches with less than 500 votes here so the vote count is still low. Still, the chances of getting square 5 stars here are the highest of all, but not by much. There's still a high enough chance of getting LESS than 5 here (18%). Adding numbers, and comparing between 5.5 or more, and less than 5.5, we can see that there's a higher chance of getting BELOW 5.5 if you are in between 50 and 31.

For the top 30, the figure changes. Now the chances of getting 5.5 or more increases by plenty (51.72%). However, isolated numbers shows the favored number in this range is square 5 stars (31%). Considering there are only 500 votes or more here, the number is more accurate to what is the general perception of the match.

In the top 25, the figure is better. Shot of getting 5.5 or more increases to 54%. There's 0 chances of getting less than 5 here. Getting a square 5 is still the best bet (29.17%) but the next best bet is 5.5 (25%).

In the top 23 (the ranking where Americano vs Americano is currently), the figure is quite promising. The shot of getting 5.5 or more is now a whopping 59.09%, that means very good odds. Also the new best bet narrowed here is now 5.5 (27.27%), closely followed by a square 5 (22.72%).

Conclusion: There's a really really good shot of Americano vs Americano match to get a 5.5. Numbers are on their favor. The chances of getting a square 5, show a downward trend so, while the chances are still there, it would be very unlikely. For those dreamers, one static figure here is the chance of getting 6 STARS which is very linear (average of 12.53%). It's still low but very possible.

continues...

In other interesting notes, we see that Meltzer favors hardcore matches here as from the three in the top, 2 have gone to 5.5 while only one is just 5. Also as seen in OP, Meltzer do favor Lucha de Apuestas matches. Mistico vs MJF got 5.5, and another one in the top 5 from Stardom (career vs career) got 5.25, so the gimmick match has very high chances of above 5.

So we get to the elephant in the room. Just taking into account the top 23 where the mask vs mask is, we see that Meltzer has a ridiculous preference for AEW. 10 of the 23 matches were in AEW. 2 were in AEW adjacent, ROH. 7 in NJPW, and 1 in Stardom. Only 2 were in WWE, and 1 (this one) in AAA. Furthermore, even though one of the WWE matches is literally TOP 2 of the decade, Meltzer gave it just 5 stars. This is the only factor that might play against the Americanos. The other WWE match just got 5.25 as well.

Conclusion: This isn't console wars but THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE. The AEW/NJPW bias is real. 3 matches of WWE vs 20 matches of AEW/ROH/NJPW/Stardom who are all partners among each other. It's a very telling disadvantage. In fact, we have to go down al the way to NUMBER 124 to find another match with 5.5, which was in TNA, and involved Will Ospreay.

This means that if the Americano vs Americano match manages to get a 5.5 star rating, it will be the first match IN THE DECADE to get a 5.5 outside of AEW or their partners (ROH, NJPW, Stardom, CMLL). Seriously, this is literally the only bias playing against the mask vs mask. Because the numbers alone, predicts an easy 5.5 or even HIGHER.

tl;dr: If the mask vs mask doesn't get at least a 5.5, the "Meltzer favors AEW" figure will be 100% confirmed.

Waiting for Tony's check to clear.
>>
the way meltzer has been talking about this match, it will bare minimum get 5 stars. that's the floor. the real question is if it will get 5.25 or 5.5, i doubt he goes any higher.

92??

Mistico and a fan
>>
>>20606662
Does he score only the match itself or the overall experience because bell to bell, while great, it wasn't 5-star worthy IMO but if it includes the promo package, the entrances and the post match unmasking then it clears it easily.

>>20608691
>it's a fed match
only the match matters, Hogan/Andre is minus 10 stars

Take a look at his review of every single instance of yardtard stupidity in gayEW, the blood and guts women matches being the most egregious example of his fucked up standards where he literally lays out every reason it sucks then gives it 4.5
Take a look at his reviews of big storyline matches without flips every 2 seconds but massive crowd reactions on every move and try to understand why he gives it -3 stars by comparison
Of course you'll do none of those things because you're just a giant pile of drunk shit who posts and copes and seethes here all day
