The mods are the problem. This site was infiltrated by jannies that hated the idea of a place separate from their reddit moderator powers as far back as 2017, and now several of them are mods. If you look at the mod dox and start searching you'll find many of them are active reddit supermods, particularly at CSAM and terrorist spawn points like gcj. There is seemingly one mod or maybe janitor that was just recently appointed to this board that actually seems to put in some effort but the reality is that moderating online content means you have rough guidelines telling you what you can and can't delete or give bans for, and you can't just go rogue on your own. The problem here is three-fold. This is a dying board on a dying site and is based on a dying form of entertainment. A good chunk of the people who post here either liked wrestling at one point and don't like it anymore or never actually liked it.
The key to a good thread is engagement. That's it. Whether the engagement is a circle-jerk, bashing, memeing, or endless bickering, it's all engagement. What we need are more engaging threads.
The threads OP mentioned, for better or for worse, are engaging in their own ways. Console wars are bickering. Joshi threads are circle-jerks, bickering, and generate bashing and some memeing. 92, for better or for worse, has become a meme that represents this place. This thread right here is actually a good thread too because threads like this get people worked up. Like I said, engagement.
The joshi threads take a lot of flak and, if you hate them, I'm not saying you shouldn't. But there are a lot of gooners on this site. When those threads pop up on the front catalog, they sometimes spark interest from people who otherwise wouldn't care about wrestling. They're advertising.
But bashing them is engagement too. We need to find ways to create more engaging material so people want to come here. That's all we're lacking.

Like I said, I didn't post that thread but I did make a number of the Mayu threads in the past. I did it because she's not really sexual like many joshis are and really is talented. To be clear: It's okay to like something that others don't.
