Would they dare put Maya in the final against Mercedes? She did say she wanted to face Maya World. Athena might want to put over her protege? TK might want to run with the Cinderella story and make someone new? I'd rather see Moné against a sympathetic babyface than another match with Athena where the outcome will be the same. Athena and Mone also did the exact same sneak attacks to get heat on back to back Collisions - they're basically the same character.

What a match. No idea how Tony sees that and not makes an effort of signing and/or putting more joshi on TV. Btw watching this makes me sad that Sareee was out and even if she wasnt she would still have lost to Athena. Mercedes vs Sareee at FD would have been a banger.
Hazuki had the one little slip to start the match, but after that you'd swear they've wrestled many times as they work so well together. Hazuki brings out the vicious side of Mercedes in some of the exchanges.

As much as I'd love to see Athena-Mone II (and it would be the more sure fire great match), if the plan is for Mercedes to win, I'd rather see Maya get the shot. It would further the Maya-Athena ROH story, it would allow Mercedes to try to make Maya in a big match and Maya would be doing everything in her power to deliver against her favorite wrestler. It also saves the Athena rematch for a time when Mercedes is champion and hopefully Athena has dropped the ROH Title.
