Why is there so much revisionist history surrounding this particular year of WCW? 1999 is even harder to follow since it goes from the nWo Elite to Hogan/Flair feuding to Sid getting a push to the Powers That Be to nWo Silver. 2000 at least had more consistency with the build up of the Misfits In Action, Filthy Animals, Hogan constantly going through tables before his exit, Sting vs Vampiro. Russo’s WCW 2000 is a thousand times more watchable than current Raw because anything and everything could happen. Even James Brown appeared at a random ppv & it felt lively unlike TKO’s celebrity involvement. More entertaining than every WWE year after 2001 too.

They had James Brown actually show up on a ppv and didn’t promote it on a single show. I mean, was it going to sell more tickets? Probably not but what the fuck. At least try.

finally someone gets it. compare with the few months kevin sullivan was booking, legit some of the worst most boring wrestling ever on tv

I forget which ppv, was it in Atlanta? Could be a last minute thing, Georgia singer, Georgia wrestling promotion. I'm probably completely wrong but for some reason I remember hearing that it was. Also yeah OP, WCW was honestly good until the end. Once Scott Steiner got fully unleashed kino was always on the menu

he was totally washed up by this point. no actual fan of his music was going to tune in just to see him dance for 5 minutes in a wrestling ring

It was Superbrawl and it was in San Francisco.

Even though that's the most dimes version of Scott Steiner, it was too late for WCW by then. The damage had been done, WWF was way way ahead, and Like AEW, they had too many aesthetic changes in a short time. They didn't have the best roster anymore. After the Poke and other stuff, people were tired of the NWO and Hollywood Hogan and more, with no younger guys on Austin or Rock's level who didn't have the Old vs Young baggage.

All I remember was the Wall (brother) killing people only to fizzle out like an aspirin.

wcw 2000 didn't have joshitters and womeme shitting up the board so that's better than modern wrestling by a lot
