AEW fans are previous WWE fan who got burned out in 2008 when the PG Era started and stopped watching. Started watching other promotions around the world because of the internet..AEW brought them back to wrestling. that feels like ECW and the Attitude Era mixed with international wrestling.

Same reason WWE fans are in their 60s. No one has managed to appeal to kids, so kids haven't watched in decades. On a somewhat related note, if you watch RESLO from the 80s, there are entire sections of the audience that are kids, as in preteens. That might be the kind of wrestling you're into.
