Tony Khan is mediocre at best and actively damaging at worst.
He books like an overstimulated 12-year-old with unlimited funds and zero discipline. AEW shows are bloated, chaotic, and exhausting. There are too many matches, too many spots, too many factions, and too many swerves that lead nowhere. Long-term storytelling is almost nonexistent, angles are hotshotted, dropped, or restarted randomly. The same wrestlers cycle through the world title picture while promising talents rot in the midcard or get buried for no clear reason.
He has one of the best rosters in the world and still can’t consistently draw viewers. Dynamite ratings have been trending downward for years despite massive signings and big moments. The company feels directionless, like it’s being booked week-to-week based on whatever Tony feels like doing rather than a coherent vision.
His booking also reveals deep insecurity. He desperately wants to be loved by the hardcore internet crowd, yet he constantly panders in the most try-hard ways while simultaneously ignoring basic business fundamentals. The endless nepotism toward his favorites, the awkward on-screen appearances, the emotional social media meltdowns, and the inability to manage locker room drama (the CM Punk era being the prime example) make him look like an immature fanboy playing with his father’s money rather than a serious promoter.
Wrestling insiders and veterans routinely mock him behind the scenes for good reason. He lacks the killer instinct, discipline, and creative maturity that defines great promoters. Paul Heyman built ECW with pocket change. Vince McMahon built a global empire. Triple H has shown strong instincts in recent years. Tony Khan? He has resources most promoters could only dream of and still produces a product that often feels like a glorified YouTube channel with expensive production.

Yes, and?
