CM Punk! CM Punk! Kek, what a stuck in trannyland bitch

It was clear with the month of almost daily Bryan Alvarez updates on Perry's contract status that he was hoping to use WWE as a bargaining chip to get more money from Tony but it clearly didn't work with WWE having no interest in him. If I was Tony, I would've lowballed this fag. Where else is he gonna go, TNA?
>>
>>20789658
So Fightful knew this, yet ran every story they could about him being this mysterious soon to be free agent who could end up anywhere for weeks and weeks, just so Tony could try and make it seem like a big deal that he re-signed him last night on Dynamite? Which also went unreported until the segment aired despite them always knowing the run sheet for the show?
They're totally not in Tony's pocket though

This is notable because unless I'm forgetting anyone this is the first name who attempted to jump from AEW to WWE and WWE passed on them. Everyone assumed it was an open door. I guess they've been more selective than people thought. Even more so this has got to send a bleak message to anyone else in AEW who was hoping to make that same leap. It's no longer such a sure thing

The fuck kind of cope is this? WWE just signed a handful of new names. They simply didn't want the guy. Perry is the one who went to them for WWE to be able to express that disinterest in the first place

I think Ethan Page, Lexis King, and Spears getting signed made it seem like that since they were such nonfactors in AEW. So on the outside it looked like WWE was grabbing whoever was leaving, but I guess WWE actually just saw something in them

>Everyone assumed it was an open door. I guess they've been more selective than people thought
lol nobody with half a brain thought it was an open door lmao
In fact AEW fans have been so busy coping with every single guy they've lost that I now discover, flabbergasted, that they didn't even notice WWE had an extremely targeted talent acquisition policy, essentially taking everybody who can draw money (except Ricky Starks) and leaving the Bucks' fuckbuddies to play fight in the mud
Cody and Punk were obvious, Vaquer, Penta, Fenix, had obvious potential especially as WWE was buying AAA, Mariah May same, Hobbs, same, Ethan Page, same, Dnahausen, same, all character-based wrestlers that have potential mainstream appeal. WWE takes people who they think can work, bring something and thrive in their environment and leaves behind the indie guys who can only get over in front of ultra smarks crowds and are proud of it

He's pushed every single one of them and aside from Starks, with success
he doesn't bid for MJF, he offers him a decent contract, then Tony offers him a couple additonal million and that's it because MJF knows he won't make it big in WWE

I think most times you see a dirtsheet reporting about a contract coming up, it's because that wrestler directly told them and wants that info out there as leverage.

I hate AEW just like everybody does but being a midcarder in AEW sounds like a cakewalk.

I'm old enough to remember when Orange Cassidy used to wrestle Kylie Rae in high school gyms. She's a great example of feds trying to make her the Face of the Women's Division and she says, "Fuuuuck that!" every time.
Working once every 4-6 weeks in the mid card, that's the sweet spot and everyone wants that in AEW. Lazy assholes.

>>
>>20789672
>If I was Tony, I would've lowballed this fag
AEW contracts are not nearly as lucrative as is reported. It is a smokescreen to make the company look better, i.e., we pay our wrestlers so much more than WWE, to work a more friendly schedule.
But since none of AEW's financials are public, there's no way to know that - it's just dirtsheets reporting what they're told.

Actual AEW contracts for a guy like Jack Perry are a fraction of his reported "seven-figure salary" which was unbelievable then and laughable now.
And you should look into what Swerve actually makes, too.
>>
>>20791369
Tony is worth 1.5 billion dollars, his dad about ten times that
Tony never earned a dollar in his life but he's beyond filthy rich, this wrestling promotion is a complete vanity project that can lose 100 million a year like it's nothing
Tony has basically nobody left on his roster that WWE would actually try to bid for. But Tony still has had to overpay massively to get people to his toy fed. He had to compensate the lack of opportunity to get famous in AEW. Now he's stuck with no names nobody else wants to hire but he's still paying big money to them. He could now low-ball at every renegotiation because anybody WWE wanted, they now have. But he's also famously non confrontational and kinda just want to blow his endless money larping as a friendly wrestling promoter, life is so much easier when you can pay people to be friendly to you and suck your every decision rather than them being pissy because they took a cut
>>
>>20791201
We wanted Jay when he wasn't crudded up when the troon fed yet. Now he's barely picking up the pieces.
>>
>>20791383

I agree that he is overpaying wrestlers, but it isn't nearly as much as "reported."
And you are right about the opportunity cost to fame in AEW, absolutely.
>>
>>20789705
Did WWE ever even talk to MJF when he was supposed to be a big free agent a few years back? Pretty sure they just completely passed on him.
>>
>>20791629
If WWE signed Shawn Spears, Ethan Page, and Ricky Starks, they DEFINITELY wanted MJF at one point. He's better than all those clowns...but that was 2019-2022. In 2023, MJF's stock went down dramatically. He's been mid ever since. Now, would WWE still sign him just to fuck AEW? I think so. He is their only good talker now.
>>
>>20791647
Obviously they would want to take a shot with him, but the issue is that he is on a 7 fig contract. There is no way they are going to try and compete for pay and set a precedent when Danhausen draws more money for far less and they don't need to go all-in and base the main-event scene around him.
>>
>WE NEVER WANTED HIM ANYWAY
uh oh Paul is seething he didn't get another AEW toy for his toy box?
>>
>>20791671
Not really. No
>>
>>20791201
Jay White would have been worth a pretty penny if he signed with WWE when he was first a free agent. If he was to try now he'd probably be laughed away
>>
>>20791713
Kek after TKO cutting all their talents salary by 50%, they'll be lucky to sign anyone ever again. They struggled to out bid Tony before, now its pretty much over

It would be a disgrace and a blow to AEW morale for Tony to lowball Jungle. Jungle has been one of the original Four Pillars and every time Tony needed Jungle to put the company on his back Jungle has shined through. WWE probably hasn't made an offer because they know he's an AEW lifer and it would bring too much scrutiny from from the AEW faithful who also watch WWE if Triple H wasn't booking Jungle to his potential.
