The promo as a collection of words wasn't bad in itself, the fact it's awful is because Seth is still rambling about his visionary revolutionary nonsense while presenting himself as a babyface. There has been no character development since he founded the vision then got betrayed, a heel being beat up doesn't magically turn into a babyface. And the crowd really, really wasn't biting one bit, which is nice. His whole bit about putting in the work and climbing upwards, etc. when he's been pushed as a main eventer for ten years and never got a pop until they got him a kickass theme song sounds completely hollow, especially as LA Knight comes out
I don't know how much of it was planned and if Seth deadass thought he would be a babyface after putting the final nail in Bron's coffin, but it 100% worked to perfection, his promo was a lie and a guy who actually fits the bill of what he described himself as came in to shut him up

Honesty, it's pretty good. So many past eras were defined by a face of the company and occasional a top-heel being a black hole that stole all the spotlight. Or sometimes an era felt like the actual stars disappeared and midcarders were all scrambling to get world championships. But if you add up all the established main-eventers and the unestablished wrestlers who could realistically beat them in a title shot, the current main-event scene has a lot of variety. My only real complaint is that I wish a young wrestler who could be around for decades more would get over and win the championship. I find old wrestlers kind of depressing.

Punk came in as the handpicked next top guy in ECW, got to write his own stories on SmackDown and they let him do freeform worked shoots on Raw during the most tightly scripted era in WWE history. Punk got near-complete freedom to establish himself on his terms, significant TV time consistently and runs with top titles earlier than any of the other three.

Seth and Roman have mediocre creative right now and it feels like they are spinning their wheels while Cody and Punk have been moving forward constantly, Cody moreso than anyone. Seth has gotten good at storytelling so he could absolutely get things going if creative lines up properly. Now they just need someone like LA Knight in the mix to add some more natural competition. The promo on Monday no doubt lit a fire and they need to keep that energy going on RAW.

It's decent. Bit repetitive though, and because of that it's a lot of same events, same pairings, same type matches.
Like I'm actually looking forward to Seff v Roman even though it's same event but it's been a while since the last and I'm invested in the shield drama.
But at the same time it's jarring that they don't bring more of the midcard to the brink of the main event scene so it feels like there's vip- title scene that's separate from the rest of the show
