You can’t build that if he doesn’t have to “choose” between two things. The KotR wasn’t wasted. He had to win it in order to tell this story of his true motivations. The only thing I didn’t love was him saying “Brock would’ve cost me anyway.” Could’ve done without that rationalization and just had him lean fully into “I want to bury you more than I want to win a title.”
