what's the worst era in WWE history?
>>
The "farming for social media moments" era, which didn't start recently. Cole going on about "trending on social media" and "#OMGMoments" is just as bad. They're just more cynical about it now.
>>
20s, 10s, 50s, 40s, early 90s, 60s, 70s, 00s, late 90s, 80s
>>
>>20849020
2018-2019 from recent memory at least
>>
>>20849020
Right now. I've been watching wwe all my life and finally stopped caring
>>
>>20849020
PG Era
>>
>>20849020
I've been watching wrestling for 20 years and people were always complaining, calling every year the worst time in wrestling.
>>
>>20849020
2015 to present has been one endless dark age
>the Roman push
>NXT darlings flopping left and right
>Legends being dragged out for mediocre matches
>NBC and Saudi money means they don't have to try
>>
>>20849020
Hands down from like 2009 to now. The minute Vince started hiring fake tough pussy ass midgets like Fagniel Cryan and Cuckman Phil and didn’t just immediately have them squashed as “local talents” WWE went straight into the shitter
>>
TKO. (2024- On going)
At the very least... as bad as some of the eras before were, it was one man's vision. Whether you agreed or not, you knew it was going through Vince. Now... it's a cluttered mess, riddled by bad booking, ads plastered on everything they can (after multiple decades of rings being blank), celebrities being overused and central to stories, aging roster and directionless.

They're already seeing the fallout from this this year with attendance dropping. It's a wonder what's going to happen when the Saudi deal is up.
>>
>>20849139
Nah the time where Ronda and Becky were the only interesting thing on the show was way worse than now. Literally nothing can beat that
>>
>>20849139
>with attendance dropping
You realize they are still averaging much higher than they were before the last two years at double or triple the cost, right? Like there is no point in having a discussion if you are pretending this isn't true
>>
Started with the constant Shield shit and them running in on practically every match then just snowballed from there with no end in sight.
>>
>>20849020
2002 till present
>>
>>20849020
WWE under Reigns. WWE literally lost millions of viewers
>>
The PG era had good moments & big time matches. After the netflix debut it has been the worst it has ever been. Ive watched since the new generation era.
>>
>>20849254
Roman sold out many stadium shows at his height, the top talent when wwe signed huge tv deals, & sold for 10billy.
>>
>>20849237
Agreed except for WM38-40.
>>
>>20849290
Paul please
>>
Early 90s or Late 10s objectively.

So bad they let Nitro/AEW actually get a foothold.
>>
>>20849293
Vince was booking then. HHH & roman dont get along.
>>
>>20849322
New generation had the best wrestling of any era, & big stars. It was better than the current product.
>>
Current generation. Its worse than the last year of WCW.
>>
>>20849181
They refuse to acknowledge this.
>>
Current era, this year, right now, today. It's the worst it's ever been and only getting worse.
>>
>>20849020
Current day
RAW guest host era
2017-2020
>>
>>20849020
Late 2010s after Cena left, beginning of the PG era in 2008-2009, post the original Bloodline to now, early 90s, in that order.
>>
Someone post the collage of 2019 stuff.
>>
>>20849020
PG era.
>>
>>20849020
this era by far
there isn't enough talent
>>
>>20849237
This is the answer. Ruthless Aggression was boring and every era since has been worse than the last
>>
I still doubt it's the worst ever but it's interesting that there are things like dialing way back on house shows and putting the stupid ads in the ring that I would have never complained about when those decision were made, but they have obviously contributed to the current malaise. Owned

The Authority is what made me give up on WWE for good.
>>
>>20850584
I do think a lot of it is having to present people as "larger than life" every week when the whole roster has tiktoks or whatever and every fan is an "internet fan." I remember when there was a real divide with very normal people who just wanted to take their families out to go see John Cena win.

My local shindie is actively bad, to the point that it's now affiliated with the Billy Corgan NWA. I still think the top girl and the top two or three guys, who no one has heard of and probably all have to work normal jobs, can go on WWE/AEW TV in decent roles, fit in and do fine. The floor of talent is actually very good, but no one has aura anymore
>>
>>20849020
Cody is done

stiff as a board
>>
The current era. I've been watching since the 90s and it's never been this soulless.
it's actually depressing seeing what WWE has become.
>>
I don't have a theory of mind for people who say that WWE right now is the worst it's ever been.
>>
Big Dog era
>>
>>20850661
HOLY SHIT IS THAT JOEY MERCURY?
>>
>>20850921
I agree with this. It's just so fucking formulaic. You at least had the chance for weird hot shots and cringekino with Vince. Paul's booking is just so fucking by the numbers soulless slop.
>>
>>20849020
2019 with Becky, Seth, and Kofi
>>
>>20851427
Some people may be able to remember more things they dislike about past eras, but it's impossible for most people to find things to like about the current era. That's why now feels like the worst. Soulless, sterile, corporate, fake and phony beyond all measure.
>>
>>20851451
>it's impossible for most people to find things to like about the current era
I can't imagine how jaded you'd have to be to say that. It's impossible for you to find things you like because you're actively looking for things to dislike.
>>
>>20851464
but then why do I enjoy it when it's good? 2022-2024 was an improvement from 2019-2022. you don't have to look for things to dislike when it's this bad. it's fine if you enjoy it, but people who have watched since the 80/90s would agree, right now is the worst it's ever been. it feels like nothing matters. no real consequences, and no reward for following along or emotionally investing in any wrestlers.
>>
>>20849020
The Corporate Schlop Era feels soulless

I don't think people truly understand just how unfathomably grim 2010/2011 WWE actually was unless you lived through it firsthand.
There's a reason why the Pipebomb hit like crack in the 80s when it happened.
>>
>>20853080
I lived through it. 2007-2011 was especially bad. however, present day WWE is worse.
>>
>>20853114
>>20853080
It was absolute hell. Because it was just so fucking boring and saccharine and dull.
>>
>>20852038
he had nothing for this kek

I stopped watching completely in 2015 but I really should have stopped watching in 2008 and pic related is the exact moment I should have gotten the message and dropped. It was beyond over and I was clearly just watching out of habit by that point.
