why is wrestling so boring?
>>20881088We don't have enough wrestling to watch
>>20881088When's this fatboy coming back?
>>20881088E-slop is boring, yeah. I watch professional wrestling Wednesdays at 8 PM EST on TBS.
because 90% of the content in the weekly shows are filler that you end up skipping because its bad tv. wwe and aew produce too much content for their own good. they should both downsize to a single hour-long show with a small cast of characters. just give us the good shit
>>20881088It's the Meltzer ring work era. Charisma doesn't matter anymore. And to be fair, the ring work isn't that great either
>>20881126They'll never do it because they'd make less money, but two weekly one hour shows would already be pretty good.
>>20881088You only watch WWE.
>>20881165Love these, saved
>>20881217>It's the Meltzer ring work era. Charisma doesn't matter anymoreThis isn't even true about AEW, the company that actively panders to Dave Meltzer, or else Andrade wouldn't have flopped in his first run there as his "workrate" is top notchWe're in the catchphrase & entrance era all around
>>20881088You mean why is WWE so boring.
>>20881452Yea you're right, we don't watch AEW here.
>>20881088Nobody is inventing new routines or potential tropes. Picture a normal match. You can usually predict exactly where the wrestlers are gonna go next. Only thing that sometimes changes is the move they do, and nobody, out of the thousands of wrestlers, has enough creative cells in their heads to create new ways to do things. Most wrestlers are using the same chain wrestling sequence from almost 50 years ago, regularly, with no variation or new spin on it. That's how devoid of creativity they are in the ring. The only things they mix up are dives. And even then, MOST do the same suicide dives every show from over 30 years ago, with the exact same preparation spot leading up to it.
>>20881088booked for smarksperformed by smarkswrestling is only good when people who never watched or cared about wrestling become wrestlers
>>20881088One company can't tell a story and has formulaic bullshit matches where everyone does a billion finishers in 30 minute bangerinos and the other company pretends to tell stories but suck at doing it while putting on DOGSHIT matches
>>20881088complacency
>>20881088You aren't watching MLW
>>20881088>TV matches are too long now >Wrestlers aren't very charismatic and have to be a lot more sterile (the only guys/girls who tend to get over are due to crap like meme chants/entrances)>The "wrestlers" really don't do as much wrestling these days or at least that's how it feels, the ratio is skewed way more towards shitty looking strike contests and tried out rope running/rebound spots that look like two kids fighting in a bouncing castle>general pace for the stream of information is leaps and bounds ahead of where things were even a decade ago, only really big events manage to avoid leaving the public's memory after less than a few daysI'd like to say I'm just blinded by nostalgia but watching pretty much anything from up to around the early-mid 2000s is waaaaay better than anything that is done today
