I didnt watch the Vice episode because fuck those people, but the aura the match had was because we finally got a CZW guy and an ROH guy fight like it was a legit CZW deathmatch. It’s hard to explain this to you kids because of how flat wrestling has become. We didnt get death matches on broadcast television like you guys do with aew. Nor were the smarks united like they are now. Death match wrestling and work rate wrestling had very different fanbases. Fans weren’t sissified into respecting all performers, and all styles. And there were actually styles, but everyone was a worse version of AJ Styles who also does death matches. These were two very different worlds colliding.
