Why did they cover up the WWF watermark with this ugly ass logo with black border when they could’ve just dug up the master footage? It’s such an eyesore on old DVDs.

They used that mostly on DVDs and archival footage up until about 2012-13. They were in a legal battle over the usage of "WWF" with the World Wildlife Fund
