So to bring the thread back to the actual friendly games, I saw Shion started using some sort of armbar in her TPC match against Suzume. Glad she's finally adding some stuff to her moveset beyond the spinning back elbow.

>TOUCH ME
>>
>I learned something interesting when holding a tournament in the U.S.: the concept of "day-of-event tickets" doesn't really exist there. Basically, everything is digital—there are no paper tickets—and sales are centralized on a single online platform. This means that, regardless of whether it's an advance purchase or a last-minute buy, you can simply purchase tickets on the site right up until just before the match starts, provided there are still tickets available.

>There are concerns regarding public safety, as a "day-of-event ticket booth" essentially signals the presence of a significant amount of cash on site. That is precisely the system used for TIF Pro-Wrestling's reserved seating tickets; as long as they remain available on LivePocket, you can purchase them right up until the match begins. Even if you show up at the reception desk on the day of the event, you will simply be shown a QR code for the website and asked to make your purchase there.

>The World That "TIF Pro Wrestling" Aims For: Where Idols and Pro Wrestling Stand Side by Side (by Sanshiro Takagi)
>Summer is the season for music festivals, and the day is fast approaching when a professional wrestling ring will be set up at the "world's largest idol festival," TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL (TIF). Today, I'd like to write about TIF Pro Wrestling.
>From July 31 to August 2, TIF Pro Wrestling will take place in the GREETING AREA of TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL 2026 supported by Nishitan Clinic, held at the Aomi Temporary Parking Lot in Tokyo. For the first time in TIF history, a full professional wrestling ring will be brought in to host wrestling matches.
>That said, this isn't actually the first time wrestling has appeared at TIF. In 2018 and 2019, DDT held its signature street wrestling matches there, and in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we staged a no-audience street wrestling event that was streamed online. Back then, many male wrestlers—including myself—participated, and some idols even stepped into the ring (Riyo Shiokawa, now of SWEAT STEADY, even became Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion). At the same time, we struggled with the question of whether it was really appropriate for us to appear at a festival dedicated to female idols.
>That's why this year's event will instead revolve around Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, with its wrestlers taking center stage. On the idol side, NGT48's Reina Seiji and KLP48's Amanda will both make their professional wrestling debuts.
>Since its launch in 2010, TIF has spent 16 years pursuing its mission of energising the idol scene and spreading its appeal. Idols and professional wrestlers may perform on different stages—the stage and the ring—but both captivate audiences through live performances using nothing but their own bodies. In that sense, they're fundamentally the same.
>>
>>20899849
>This year, we'll finally have an actual wrestling ring at TIF. That same ring will also host idol live performances, and there will even be a special segment where fans can throw paper streamers to the idols. It'll be a space where visitors can enjoy both idols and professional wrestling all at once.
>I also believe that Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling is the promotion best suited to this festival and the one closest to the idol industry. About half of our roster either currently works as idols or stage actresses, or has done so in the past.
>Among them are former SKE48 member and current Princess of Princess Champion Yuki Arai, as well as Miu Watanabe, Raku, Shino Suzuki, and Uta Takami of Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling). Tokyo Joshi is probably the only promotion where talent connected to both the 48 Group and Hello! Project traditions coexist under one roof (laughs). More recently, Momo Sato from Harajuku LAND also made her debut. Honestly, it's hard to imagine other wrestling promotions fitting naturally into an idol festival like this.
>That said, I do think there's considerable overlap between idol festival attendees and fans of women's professional wrestling. This is one of our initiatives to introduce the appeal of joshi wrestling to a wider audience. Another goal is discovering the next generation of talent that will carry women's wrestling into the future.
>Female idols and women's professional wrestling are both uniquely Japanese forms of pop culture. While other countries have female music groups, they're generally vocal groups or bands. As for wrestling, promotions like Pro-Wrestling EVE do promote women's wrestling by bringing female wrestlers together for events, but there are virtually no overseas promotions that run regular shows every week using only contracted women's wrestlers. Companies like WWE and AEW feature both men's and women's divisions instead.
>>
>>20899855
>Another similarity between the idol industry and the wrestling world is their hierarchical structure based on experience and seniority. The wrestlers in Tokyo Joshi get along very well, but the senior-junior relationships are firmly established, and greeting your seniors is absolutely expected. They also share another common trait: beyond live performances and matches, both offer opportunities for fans to interact directly with performers through handshake events, bonus sessions, and other meet-and-greet activities.
>As for NGT48's Reina Seiji, who debuts on August 1, her hobbies are skateboarding and strength training. Although she's slender, she's already in incredible physical condition. Not only are her abs well-defined, but the veins in her arms stand out so prominently that you almost wonder if an idol can really look like that. She's definitely someone to keep an eye on.
>Looking beyond this summer, I'd like to grow TIF Pro Wrestling into an even bigger event by working together with TIF and the TIF ASIA TOUR. I hope we'll continue to see idols make the transition into professional wrestling. At the same time, I'd also like to see the reverse happen—members of Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) or other wrestlers forming girls' units and performing on stage as idols.
>I want more people to experience a world where these two forms of live, physical entertainment—idols and professional wrestling—stand side by side.
>>
>>20899808
What the fuck is he talking about? That's how paper tickets worked too back in the day.
>There are concerns regarding public safety, as a "day-of-event ticket booth" essentially signals the presence of a significant amount of cash on site.
Huh?
>>
>>20899879
he's talking about how in japan tickets for most events are sold on multiple different sites vs overseas where it's usually only on one
