Was he really that bad or just a victim o WWE's revisionism?
He had the looks but that was really about it.
>>20997318Nah, his promos were cool and entrance/character spots were on point.
Better than hogan.
>>20997298Loved the warrior when I was a kid. Him and Randy Savage were absolute kino
He had a Top 10 all-time look. I would say he was a good promo guy. Did his promos make sense? Not really. But her performed them well and had lots of energy. When you have a promo style that people remember like his, you've done something right. He wasn't a great worker and just did a typical face match for the most part where he'd get beat down, make his comeback and win.
>>20997298He had enough charisma and a good look to carry himself. But he couldn't be the guy because he can't carry anyone else. For all the shit Hogan gets for his in ring, he at least is safe.
>>20997351no he wasn't
>>20997298Thea Hail would unironically be a perfect fit for this gimmick, maybe change it from a powerhouse to a speed version though, but she seems autistic enough to pull off the promos
>>20997298If you own a fed who would you rather have on the card? Warrior or Sammi Zayn?He drew I don't give a fuck about the rest and same goes for based Goldberg
>>20997298>WWE's revisionismYes
>>20997298neither. it's was wrestlers jealous of is Destrucity
nah he was kino crowd loved him too which makes smarks mad because he didn't do ballet exhibitions like savage and steamboat
>>20997298He was pretty shit. But he was over as fuck and the crowd connected to him which is ultimately all that mattered and still does matter
>>20997298See when I was ten? Fucking amazing, GOAT. But no, guy had a dimes look, theme, entrance. Promos were so mental they entertained. But that was it. Blown up to fuck about 2 mins into every match too.
>>20997534Based
>>20997534Paul still wakes up screaming in the middle of the night because of this.
>>20997534Crazy how the Warrior mogs triple bypass in every single way and yet pauletty got force pushed for decades.
>>20997298It’s faggots seething because he hated the holy lgbtq+ folx
>>20997369get a job
1. Hulk Hogan2. Warrior3. Sid4. Antonio Inoki5. Stan HansenMy personal "Top 5", not that anyone asked.
>>20997298nah he was good. pretty much the perfect wrestler for kids to latch on to as well. cool face paint, cool gear, cool promos, looked cool in the video games, figures looked cool. what else do you need?
>>20999235>Warrior having good time while the fans are calling Goldust "faggot".
>>20997298He had a look and intensity that was difficult to match. He could be carried to good, long matches by people like Rick Rude and Randy Savage. He wasn’t a ring general but his character never should have been. But he was an asshole that no one liked from Honky Tonk Man to Andre.
>>20999296People disliked him because he didn't fed on the hazing/paying dues/carny bullshit. Macho Man respected him and was friends with Owen Hart.>HonkyNobody would believe jackshit from that shitter...
>>20997298He was not that bad at all. He couldn't do much physically but he understood what to do and why to do it, and he fired the crowd up perfectly, which is what a babyface should be able to do. Like >>20997370 says he could have never been the guy since he can't lead a match, but he had everything else going for him. His promos weren't stupid unintelligible garbage, he clearly had some ideas going for him and he embodied a larger than life character. Dudes got into wrestling solely because of him.>>20997534The worst part of all this was Pauletty having to cry to the office so they could try to talk to the big bad warrior and have him change the match instead of being a man and standing his ground. He's been doing that sneaky shit way before he ever got with Steph.
>>20997298He was garbage. Awful bu today's standards but pretty standard fare for late 80s/early 90s wrestling.
>>20997534warrior ALWAYS got a huge reaction and thats all that really matters in pro wrestling. someone just posted the multi-year contract vince sent warrior in 96 so if he was so bad then why was vince having him beat hogan clean for the title and constantly trying to get him to return?
>>20999253Uh based
>>20999377>00:08THAT was the point when the Hulkster ruined his back. For all the following years he held it together only thanks to the power of those little hulkamaniacs around the world...
>>20997298Had the looks.Had the opportunity. Was a turbo retard on almost everything.Didn't want to wrestle more than 10 minutes. Would complain otherwise.WWE did a Warrior comic for him and he argued over the percentage of sales and because of this he ended up getting that comic cancelled because he kept demanding more money from it.Refused to wrestle certain guys.Vince told him to stop taking steroids because they were being watched, he failed the test, got fired as a result. Was refusing to turn up to a ppv unless he got more money, actually got it but then got suspended but he argued and quit only to come back.Got into fights with others in the locker room.Refused to appear at house shows when he was given another chance.Even when he went to wcw he acted a dick. Eric and Hogan did screw him over but he never helped himself
>>20999529his cardio stamina was terrible and he knew his dad died from a heart attack at age 50.he had genetic medical conditions for sure.
>>20997298>Was he really that bad>still sells more merch in death than most current wrestlers
Greatest match in the history of our fine sport
>>20997298He was worse. You literally had to be 5 to like him. Everyone else would see him as a coked out steroid abuser who didn't sell and knew like 3 moves. Strangely, one of those moves was a Piledriver.
>>21000766the ultimate warrior was the only person to beat hogan cleanly during his entire wwf career. only counting hogans prime hulkamania years before the nwo
Wasn't there a rumour about him where they wanted him to speak on an anti-drug PSA but the coked out maniac that he was didn't understand the difference between a shoot and a work?
>>20997298Warrior's bad and then some more. Constantly getting others hurt, being a gigantic drug addict, and a legit asshole who had no self-awareness as to why everyone hated him. He HATED Bobby Heenan because Bobby called him out for being a talentless, stiff idiot. And so when Bobby got sick, Warrior talked mad shit. >“As for you, Booby Heenan, it’s just too difficult to keep a straight face talking about the pure two-faced bag of sh– you are (and have always been), what, with you also actually wearing one as a piece of body jewelry. You are dying, dis-eased on the inside, and no more time is left to get back any of the integrity that matters the most on death’s bed. Imagine what it will be like, lying there taking in your last breaths, knowing you whored yourself out your whole life, and had to, in your final years, be faced with emptying your own personal sh–– bag affirming to you the true value of what you achieved in your life. Not even Vince could come up with a better finish than this. Karma is just a beautiful thing to behold.”But God loves irony; Warrior, a frail old man, died of a heart disease, genetic and amplified by his steroid abuse, and the Warrior Award was awarded to the same people he despised so much. Oh, and Bobby Heenan outlived him.
>>20999408Warrior and Hogan are definitely not up there with Macho.
>>20999346>People disliked him because he didn't fed on the hazing/paying dues/carny bullshit.People disliked him because he was an asshole and got people hurt. He couldn't wrestle for shit.
>>20997534I don’t like Warrior but I hate Paul a lot more so this popped me
>>21000941>>21000931>got people hurtName three wrestlers he injured
>>20997298>industry absolutely teeming with carnies and scumbags.>doesn't allow himself to get screwed>somehow, this makes him the bad guyIt's the Hogan thing all over again.
>>21001399this. everyone was just jealous of his spot
>>20999529>WWE did a Warrior comic for him and he argued over the percentage of sales and because of this he ended up getting that comic cancelled because he kept demanding more money from it.That wasn't how it really went down. The entire comic-book venture was Warrior's idea in an attempt at jumping on the comic speculation craze of the 90s, then, he came back to the WWF, forced them to promote it and, when he felt that some promotional stands were using some of his slogans without his permission, he wanted Vince to buy one million comic-books for a dollar a piece as a compensation, to which he told him to fuck off.
>dropped Roode on his head >Heenan got hurt by him>Andre punched him in the face for being too rough>Honky Tonk Man refused to let him do his finisher on his back, opting for his stomach instead>no showed shows>held Vince up for more money or he wasn't wrestling; was fired when he got to the back>no sold finishers>to circumvent Vince's lawsuit against him utilizing his trademark, he changed his name to Warrior>Named his kid 'Warrior'>his kids legal name is 'Warrior Warrior'.>clumsy and wreckless; for being a professional, he sure as hell didn't wrestle like it.He was a roid monkey shitter.
>>21001501>>no sold finishersthat was part of the gimmick, ya nerd
>>20997298Nah he was FOKED
>>21001505To whose gain?
>>21000931>and Bobby Heenan outlived himbut at what cost? you ever see the condition heenan was in for the last few years of his life?

>>21001508The fans, of course, not flippy ballet chuggers like yourself...
>>21001501>to circumvent Vince's lawsuit against him utilizing his trademark, he changed his name to WarriorThat was beyond based.
The boy was dang crazy, but he looked Incredible
>>21001399>Name three wrestlers he injuredI'm getting the sense that a lot of the injuries he caused were hurt feelings.
>>21000940They likely are. Hogan especially. We're not saved by works. We are saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ and His finished work (substitutionary death on the Cross to pay for all our sins, burial, and resurrection on the third day). As far as we know, all three believed that. Hogan in particular was very vocal about it in the years leading up to his death.>b-but muh bigotryAll sins are washed away by the blood of Christ for those that have placed their faith on Jesus Christ and not themselves.>b-but that's too easy!Exactly. That's the point. Salvation is the gift of God's grace through faith in Christ, not of works, so that no man may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9>b-but I won't believe in Jesus if he forgives Hulk HoganStrange flex to spend eternity in Hell because of the Hulkster, but more power to you I guess.
>>21001533Don't give a shit about flippy faggotry and the fans are retards.Warrior was a shitter.
>>20999529>Didn't want to wrestle more than 10 minutes. Most of Hogan's matches back then rarely went more than 10-15 minutes, I really don't know why wrestling has gotten locked into a mindset where the longer the match the better it is. Look at modern WWE main events and tell me you'd rather watch that than a 10 minute Hogan or Warrior main event.>>21001501>no showed showsWasn't this something from that 'Self Destruction of Ultimate Warrior' DVD that WWE did? Weren't they exposed as photoshopping fake cards for house shows to make it look like Warrior was scheduled to appear
>>20997298I mean watch his matches, he gets blown up running to the ring lol.
>>21001564>where the longer the match the better it isCritics say this in every media
>>21001565Maybe you should watch them. His match with Hogan is iconic. And his matches with Savage and Rude were phenomenal. Yes, all carry jobs. But it still takes two to tango. Savage-Warrior at WrestleMania 7 is one of the best matches ever. Why? Because of emotional investment. You have no heart if you can't get into that match.
>>21001552Blessed post.
Obviously a limited worker but as far as looks/aura top 10 of all time and its not even a question.
>>21001577No, they say the opposite. Go watch Bollywood films and tell me longer is better. Bollywood doesn't seem to understand the concept of editing and every film is a 3 hour epic with maybe 60 minutes of content that actually drives the narrative and/or isn't garbage. It's actually harder to make longer media that is actually good because with the best media, every moment grips you.

>>21001564True. Hogan didn't want to work long matches. Nor did Nash or hall. They wanted short matches and to do as little a year as possible. These 3 gave bret stick because he was working for less money, did more matches and wrestled longer. Warrior wanted to do less than this for more because he believed he had more energy and charisma than Hogan and could be a much bigger star. The no showing at shows was true. Its literally why he was fired from the wwe the final time and why wcw paid him 1million for 13 matches (was it 13?) Because he HAD to show up for those or else he wouldn't get anything. Eric and the wcw owners were terrified he was just not going to show up or start demanding more money. It's why he was so lazy in some of his wcw matches. It was the first time he had teamed with sting (his ex tag partner) in years and he just could not be bothered. He didn't even take his robe off during the entire 6 minute match
>>20997298one of the coolest fucking wrestlers of all time, don’t let neckbeards or WCW fanboys tell you otherwise
Honestly he probably would have lasted a long time if he wasn’t a pain in the ass. It probably would have been better for the wwf overall cause they would have had to flush out the roster with better workers. Cause there was no way they were going to have him work mainevents with Sid and Diesel.
>>20997298in the 80s he was based as fuckhe had the look, the promos now would seem bizarre but for the time they were awesomeHe was built like a monster because he looked like one.once we got into the 90s not so greathe never evolved or ever improved in the ring his matches were more formulaic then Hogans which is really saying something.and apparently, he was a massive dickweed to his fansI've heard many stories from people both in and out of the biz of what a asshole he was to fanswhich you can say a lot of things about Hogan, but he always treated his fans great which i can personally attest to myself.

There is no doubt in the world that this was the clash of the ages and meant to signal the changing of the guard and of the times. When the two locked horns at the Royal Rumble, you felt it. You felt something you never even knew that you wanted. And it was big. This was also belt for belt and that sort of stuff just did not happen at the time and the Intercontinental title meant an immense lot more back then. Then you get to the end and the crowd is watching the former champ leave as opposed to the new champ in the ring.>"*shrugs* Hate to say I told you so."-"Heavenly" Hulk Hogan

>>21004782>True. Hogan didn't want to work long matches. Nor did Nash or hall. They wanted short matches and to do as little a year as possible.10-15 minute matches is the perfect length for most wrestling matches and you can't convince me otherwise. For a monster babyface like Warrior, a sub-5 minute squash match is usually exactly what you want to see.>The no showing at shows was true. Not fully convinced, as WWE pretending he no-showed at shows he was never announced as being at was true too.>It's why he was so lazy in some of his wcw matches. It was the first time he had teamed with sting (his ex tag partner) in years and he just could not be bothered. He didn't even take his robe off during the entire 6 minute matchAnon, no. Warrior suffered some sort of arm or shoulder injury from when they had him tear the Wargames cage open, and he kept that coat on to cover up bandages, and the injury is why he was hardly in the ring for that match. You can literally learn this from the comments under the match on Youtube. Also if you watch the match on Youtube with subtitles, the subtitles keep calling Sting by his real name Steve.
>>21000766Savage vs Warrior is way better, and has a GOAT post-match with fans in tears at the Elizabeth reunion.

>>21006129Normally for a torch pass like this, you'd expect the former champ to leave or at least take a reduced role, supposedly the original plan was for Hogan to step back and focus more on movies, but that didn't really work out and he stuck around in wrestling the whole time, so the focus never fully moved onto Warrior as the new champ.I think Warrior's matches would've had a much better chance of looking like a bigger deal than Hogan's if they'd gone straight to the feud with Savage instead of not doing it until after he lost the title.
>>20997534I know we all like to pop at this because "lol at Paul" but it also makes me wonder how much damage was done to wrestling over the years as a result of this. This was basically Paul's villain origin story moment.
>>21008958No way. That's simplifying the situation. Paul is a bonafide egomaniac, even prior Warrior no selling that shit finish. Plus in kayfabe, why would the Pedigree finish a man that used a body splash as a finish?

>>21002697NTA but I'm 45 and I know there are dudes older than me here. You shouldn't be surprised, that's when wrestling was actually good.I'm more surprised that anyone under like 30 likes it at all.
>>21008958>>21008970It's surprising that this happened before HHH got de-pushed and punished for the 'MSG Incident', but at the time he was the exact kind of midcard heel you'd feed to Warrior for his big return. >>21008993Lol right after I posted that I noticed the Christmas tree and realized that literally is Santa. I figured Santa turns out to be a drunk bum and it's up to Warrior to save Christmas for the kids and it sounds like I was actually right kek.
>>21006636>my favorite is the two page crashout about his artist quitting over not getting paidI thought the original artist quit the book over religious objections to the plot and Warrior's Destrucity belief system. It's one of the reasons the DDT was so devastating. Now every move is a knockout blow, a 3.1 kick out works with a splash, not with a spinning brainbuster from the top rope onto a cinder block.
Does Ultimate Warrior have the highest power level in kayfabe?

Warrior’s shelf life was never going to be long going by how his matches played out. Dude was always going to be seen as a relic of the 80s much like Hogan once everyone got tired of him much like they did of Hogan. The fact that Vince and Bischoff both agreed that this was worth having around as talent despite having the latter needing to invest in reliable talent, and the former literally drowning in it, shows what fucking idiots run this business.

>>20997298He got over with the crowd and got crazy reactions.Promos are way out there ranting about the cosmos and crashing planes so this is mostly subjective. They are memorable than most promos ever given so I'd say he was better than average. There's no denying he was limited in the ring based on shoot interviews from other wrestlers. There were also claims he was unsafe to work with. Though you have to consider there was probably a degree of jealously from the other wrestlers that someone so limited in the ring was getting such a push.Based on stories behind the scenes, he sounded and acted like a complete maniac. For better or worse, he 100% believed in his own shit. It was a double edged sword that probably help propelled his career, but also torpedoed all his relationships because of how shamelessly selfish he was.His WCW run was a flop. You could argue he was sabotaged politically or they didn't really have good concrete long term plans for him, but it sucked regardless.Fan perspectives on him shifted even more when he started touring college campuses giving speeches about how homosexuality is wrong and destroys society. Look/Presence: Easily a 9 or 10.Promos: 6 or 7? He sounded like he was coked out of his gourd. His promos almost veer into trainwreck territory with how out there and bizarre they are but also make him memorable at the same time.Work rate: Probably a 3. He couldn't carry anyone else in a match, but could follow a basic paint by numbers match layout. I don't recall any egregiously botches from him but you could argue his matches were already so simple it was hard to fuck up. If you also factor in crowd reactions as part of work rate, then he would be a 4 or 5, but I can't rate him higher than average.WWE definitely cut him down after he left the company on bad terms, but he is mostly responsible for torching his own reputation too.25% WWE's fault. 75% His Fault for having alienating politics and being a selfish psychopath.

>>20999377He was bad by the standards of his time too.>>20999529>>21001483That's another thing, he was insanely greedy. Plenty of wrestlers did it for the money more than love of wrestling but Warrior was so money hungry that every match or promotion he did or every time he got pissy about something was an excuse for him to demand more money because he was convinced he was an irreplaceable top star. Despite the fact business started tanking when he was champ.
He kind of had the perfect career for himself. I don't think he ever would've lasted that long doing that character and gimmick. It was too 80s. It's kind of why it flopped in 96 and 98. Shit when he came back in 1992, it was the same thing. He got pops, but nothing like 1990 (which is basically the last year of the 80s and end of Hulkamania).
>>21015961>It's kind of why it flopped in 96 and 98. Shit when he came back in 1992, it was the same thing. He got pops, but nothing like 1990 (which is basically the last year of the 80s and end of Hulkamania).Royal Rumble 1992 encapsulates everything wrong with Vince McMahon as a businessman. You literally have the audience telling him they're fucking sick of Hulk Hogan when they cheer Sid throwing him out, then boo the shit out of Hogan for pulling Sid out. You would think he'd feel the winds of change, but no, he goes out of his way to edit the media release to have everyone boo Sid, then have Hogan beat him at WM8, and it fucking sucked ass. Then the next year, because he still didn't see the writing on the wall, he has Hogan bury the talent at WM9 and effectively tell viewers that the Next Generation is fucking dead.
>>21016064That's what money does to men who love cashcows. You need the right mindset, advisors, and ear to the ground telling you when to stop. Same thing happened over and over and will continue to happen in entertainment and even politics.
>>21016064Yeah, but Vince was making a shit ton of money, and didn't want to stop it. It was stupid as hell, but whatever.I'm being generous with 90, but honestly, Savage should've had a longer run and maybe won at Mania V and drop it at Summerslam.
>>21016100>Yeah, but Vince was making a shit ton of moneyBut not enough to match what he was making the prior year, or the one prior to that. I'm sure it would be a lot of money, but not enough to justify keeping Hogan as the company ace. Hogan, along with Vince, was the face of the steroid case. Vince knew that the feds were investigating him and that at any moment that year, they would indict him. And yet, decided that putting the belt on Hogan, a proven liability at this point, and gambling on a dying fad was the best business choice. Dude is just a dumbass.
>>21016081>You need the right mindset, advisors, and ear to the ground telling you when to stop. The old territories worked around it by having new talent come in when the current draw is losing steam.

>>21016304>not that the fans were tired of hoganBut they were. Hogan was already a relic of his time in 1992, as he was in 1993 and in 1994 when he joined WCW. It literally took having to fly on the coats of Hall and KWAB and ditching the red and yellow, eat your vitamins, say your prayers gimmick to get over. And when that was over, he went back to the old gimmick, and it was also terrible. >and vince was right because history has shown sid would leave whenever he wanted.Vince wasn't right because the company entered a steep decline that wouldn't be reversed until 1998/1999. Who knew that putting all your money on unreliable steroid users was a bad decision? > wrestling wasnt his life like hoganIs that why Hogan tanked and killed WCW when it needed him most? Then he did the same in TNA with his boyfriend Eric Bischoff? >hey were. having lived through that era it really was the worst. people talk of bret like hes some legend, but the guy was never close to being in the same league as hogan or sid or austin when it comes to popularity or drawing powerExcept when people bring up that era, they do bring up Bret in a positive manner? Same for Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, Owen Hart, Carder. Anyone with an actual fucking brain knows the failure of the Next Gen was on Vince for failing his job as promoter. WWF in the NG era is no different than WCW during the 2000s when they were trying to patch up a sinking ship. Talent was absolutely there, but they were wasted.

>>21016714>Bret was definitely over because he was one of the guys, along with Shawn Michaels, who made a show out of wrestling.Guys like Bret, Shawn and Undertaker were over, but they were never anywhere near the level of over that Hogan and Warrior or Rock and Austin were on, and that's something that's just sort of innate to a wrestler, no amount of wins is going to put you on that level if you didn't have it to begin with.>He was not long-term material.Nobody but the worst kind of smarks cared that Warrior couldn't have a 30 minute technical classic or cared about his workrate, he was one of the two most over guys in the company, and was all the time he was there. Vince clearly thought Warrior was long-term material at the time they did the torch-pass at Wrestlemania 6, but then they didn't really give him main event-level challengers to work with, and Hogan stuck around, got bigger opponents to work with, and Vince did the unprecedented move of giving Hogan and Warrior rival house show tours at the same time. Imagine if he'd done that with Bret and Shawn or Austin and Rock, and how it could've changed the course of WWE history.I'm not one of the Hogan-haters here, but the right move here would've been for Hogan to step away after the torch pass, give Warrior some top-tier opponents, and have Hogan come back as a surprise entrant in the 1991 Royal Rumble. If Warrior really wasn't working out they could still do the same title change to Slaughter then back to Hogan, but at least pass the torch properly first and give the new guy a real good try.
>>21016304>sid was an exception. its not that the fans were tired of hogan its just that everybody just cheered for sid no matter what.Sid is a unique case where no company ever really pushed him as The Guy, but everywhere he went, he was always really over, even in ECW, and a lot of audiences just wouldn't play along when he was supposed to be turning heel, and kept cheering for him. It happened with his 'betraying' Hogan in 92, and again in his feud with Shawn. He was never one of those guys audiences could get bored of because he chose not to stay anywhere too long, Sid played the 90s wrestling business like it was still the days of the territories, and made it work.
>>21017567>Guys like Bret, Shawn and Undertaker were over, but they were never anywhere near the level of over that Hogan and Warrior or Rock and Austin were onRock and Austin are a terrible comparison because those guys literally had to work their way to the top and prove themselves time and time again, then some more, while Vince gave Warrior a pass time and time again because he had the look and yet little actual talent. >Nobody but the worst kind of smarks cared that Warrior couldn't have a 30 minute technical classic or cared about his workrate, Completely irrelevant. Nobody is asking Warrior to pull off an hour-long Ironman match. Going over the fifteen-minute mark is terrible; I don't care if you're Shawn Michaels or Steve Austin, but that's not what I meant by saying Warrior is not long-term material. >Vince clearly thought Warrior was long-term material at the time they did the torch-pass at Wrestlemania 6, but then they didn't really give him main event-level challengers to work withYou have to realize that being over can only get you so far before the crowd gets tired of you. It's not permanent. On paper, Warrior is a definite downgrade compared to Hogan. Hogan, despite all his issues, knew how to wrestle with others and wouldn't hurt them, he knew how to drop a promo, he knew how to act in public as a champion, he knew how to sell the product and make his money over the long term. You don't get that with Warrior. Warrior was only as good as the person he wrestled with because he had to be carried. He thought short-term and took it personally and vindictively when his work injured another worker. How the hell can this guy be your champion if he shows his limit the second Vince changes the script?
>>21017567>Guys like Bret, Shawn and Undertaker were over, but they were never anywhere near the level of over that Hogan and Warrior or Rock and Austin were onexactly. bret just wasnt a world champ type of guy especially back then when all the guys were larger than life and had over the top personalities to match. >>21017702>You have to realize that being over can only get you so far before the crowd gets tired of youthe funny thing is bret was known as a work rate wrestler but absolutely nobody gave a shit. in fact the fans literally TURNED ON him during his feud with stone cold. thats right... bret as the face champ lost all support... or what little support he had. that never happened to hulk or warrior during their rivalry. nobody once booed the ultimate warrior ever. go back and watch some of his matches and notice the crowd always going crazy
>>21018223>the funny thing is bret was known as a work rate wrestler but absolutely nobody gave a shit.Hey warriortranny, how do you think Steve Austin got over in the first place? It was working with Bret because Bret had to convince Vince that they had something good going on. If Vince had his way in 1996, he would have gladly traded Austin for Warrior and doomed the company as a result.
>>21018357>how do you think Steve Austin got over in the first place?by being entertaining on the mic... something bret never was. but like i said the fans turned on bret and it was over for him after that. his career never recovered. say whatever you want about the ultimate warrior but he was never booed like bret
>>21008715>Anon, no. You can literally learn this from the comments under the match on Youtube.Believing jewtube.Believing anything warrior says as truth.Anon the warrior was greedy and lazy af. He didn't want to do several of the wcw matches he agreed to and put little to no effort in them.Warrior most likely lied about his injury as he didn't want to put the work in just like how he put Zero effort in the match after that one
>>21017567>Vince clearly thought Warrior was long-term material at the time they did the torch-pass at Wrestlemania 6Vince saw a meathead he could draw dimes with, then realized he was dealing with an asshole that thought he should be paid the same as Hogan, but was only willing perform a fraction of what Hogan was willing to do. He couldn't lead a match, which made him hated by people like DiBiase, worked stiff and injured people. Cena holds the record for make-a-wish, you know who stiffed a dying kid? Warrior. The guy was a dick.
>>21018378>by being entertaining on the mic...The mic that he had to fight for and deliver memorable promos, the mic that the Warrior never had to fight for. Using Austin in defense of the Warrior is never going to work because Austin worked his ass off to get over.

Macho and Hogan passed the torch to Warrior. Then had to come back when he flaked and/or failed and probably didn't want to do it again and get buried more. Macho Man definitely needed a longer title reign. He's only know for fighting Hogan as champ because he wasn't given anything else but build up for that showdown and he lost right away, and never sniffed the top spot anymore. Giving HBK a bunch of Royal Rumble wins, and having Bret concede to Hogan to beat the shittiest WWF champ ever, Yokozuna (titles mean something? LOL) did NO ONE any favors.
