It's been really, really good, maybe my favorite since 2019. The lineup full of young guys is awesome with many of them having real standout performances, and the veterans have been just as great. Tons of people have come into their own over the tour, Tsuji and Boltin are most notable in that in my opinion, but Wolf and Oskar also improved a ton just over the tour. I'm very happy with the semifinalists too, though I won't spoil that in case you haven't seen them yet.

I am admittedly not super familiar with Jake Lee's history as a whole, but what you're describing doesn't sound accurate to me. The only time Jake's been a face he was being heavily pushed in AJPW (to my understanding it was a premature call of the "new pillars," sort of what Umino has been seeing in NJPW) but that was almost a decade ago now. He turned heel in 2021 and was a heel in both NOAH and NJPW after he left AJPW. Either you're mistaken on the timeframe of this or you're thinking of people disliking him as a heel more recently. He just doesn't seem to connect with fans in the way bookers expect him to nomatter where he goes.
