How did this geek convince Vince to be able to hold the belt hostage for 6 years starting in 2014?
>>
>>21014123
He didn't? He lost the belt to Rollins at WM in 2015 ya seethng manlet
>>
>>21014123
It was Vince's idea. Brock became the special attraction, and held the title. That way the under guys could step up. Only Roman did
>>
>>21014142
Which he then won like a year later. Brock was consistently always holding the main belt, whether it be the strap or the galactic championship, from 2014 up to 2020. They were also the worst years of the company.
>>
>>21014123
We learned from the leaks that Vince was into cuckold porn. He looked up to Brock seeing him as a bull not unlike some of his favorite pornos. So he rewarded Brock greatly because of this.
>>
>>21014123
They were both using the same toilet.
>>
reminder that ratings cratered each and every time Brock has held a world title. Run the numbers if you don't believe me
>>
>>21014123
Vince couldn't get (or didn't want to, depending on how you see things) anybody else more over than Cena and had to rely on an established MMA guy to keep drawing the normalfags to his show. He also made Brock job to fucking Pauletty.
>>
>>21016622
We DON’t use facts here
>>
>>21016622
yeah no wonder people stopped caring when the world champion wasn't gonna show up on tv and all of the following storylines weren't gonna have anything to do with him
>>
>>21014123
Cause damn near everyone they tried to make after Cena couldn’t compare, always got hurt, was booked ineptly, or simply sucked.
>>
>>21016622
No shit retard, like 80% of his reigns were after Cena left. People were already being very bored by the product in the mid 2010s, but at least giga star Cena was there, no one had any reason to watch after Cena left in 2017.
>>
>>21016622
I love Brock and think he may very well be the GOAT but he was not a big draw and didn't deserve the juicy deals Vince kept giving him.
>>
>>21016622
Almost as if being booked to show up once a month was stupid or something
>>
>>21014143
this

Deserve from a product stand point? Of course not, they couldn’t return what he was being paid. He earned them in a different way, by knowing how Vince ticks and seducing him. I don’t think Brock is a genius but he is a practical guy that knows to surround himself with the right people. Sable and Heyman both should get lots of credit for that.

Vince is kind of like a woman. He has to be treated in very specific and sometimes confusing ways. Sometimes courted. Sometimes ignored. Sometimes you have to threaten him with violence. Tell him you’ll fuck his work girlfriend. Whatever.
>>
Who tf else would they give it to?
Bunch of weak skinny fat 'muh technicals'?

Hate this fake tough guy bitch

>but he was not a big draw
He actually was quite a big draw for some of their ppv's but he was actually a much bigger draw for the short time his UFC career lasted. So much so in fact that he's still in the top 3 and probably helped paved the way for Connor to be the drawing success that he was. UFC's top draws all time were Ronda, Connor and Brock.

I do agree though that he was definitely way overpaid and given way too much. But so was Roman and he deserved far less success. If Vince likes someone he will push them to the moon regardless of all logic that would tell any other businessman to stop.
>>
>>21019271
>he was actually a draw!
>only for some ppvs
>starts talking about his overhyped UFC run, instead of pro wrestling
Brock was awesome, and better than anyone now, but he wasn't a draw. Ratings went down the entire time.
>>
>>21019283
His success is harder to gauge due to how Vince pushed him in the second much longer part of his career when he left UFC. Its clear he was a big draw for WWE any way you slice it no matter what year he was wrestling in. Probably just not as high as Vince thought but the same could literally be said about both Roman and John. None of these guys were of the caliber of drawing power that Austin and Hogan were.

Brock has been a part of some of their biggest record setting buys and gates they have ever done. If you think Brock being on the card for these events isn't a factor at all you are out of your mind. He clearly was a big reason for much of the success of these events.

polish joe draws
>>
He's been a wrestling draw for exactly one match in his career.

The first time it was obviously to put over Roman reigns- every other time afterwards was because Vince had soured on everyone on the roster and just defaulted back to Brock since he was legitimate, good gig for Heyman and Brock- didn’t need much convincing just “yea I’ll hold the belt again boss.”
>>
Jesus...was Big Gold always that small?
>>
>>21016951
Him showing up also wasn't a draw either.
>>
He was basically his Andre in an era that had nobody who could produce dimes.

He was meant to put over Roman, but that failed for like seven years until Roman finally got over. So for a long time he was just a guy to hold the title while they figure out something else or a new way for Roman to get over with the crowd.

I personally think that him losing his first match was insanely stupid, despite it being great. What was even worse was the HHH feud wihich similar to the Oba feud was a three match series that nobody asked for with HHH of course winning at Mania for some stupid reason. It completely killed his aura and he needed the Streak + to beat the shit out of Cena to regain some of it, but he basically died with the first Cena loss and HHH feud. It just made him another geek on the card.

In an ideal world, they'd have him undefeated the entire time until it was time to put over whoever was next (presumably Roman).

Another reason was Vince calling fans bluff on complaints that had exploded by the late 00s and 10s. That title changes were happening too often and in the case of Punk's ten record breaking title run, was treated as an afterthought.

So Vince brought back long title reigns for Brock and limited when he defended the belt to make his matches mean more.
>>
>>21014123
Dude combined the looks and presence of old school wrestling main eventers with the wrestling ability of vanilla midgets everyone was clamoring for post 2000s. After his ufc run and return, he held most of the bargaining power, so he never worked a match that lasted more than 10 minutes ever again save for the streak match, but he was literally the only person you could slot into the main event at any point no matter how long he had been gone and still be seen as a legitimate threat. No one else before and since had and has his aura
