Thoughts on Jake Roberts?

What's so Snake about him
>>
The OG raped bitch
>>
piss drinker

Based and dimes. Original thinker. Able to control a crowd in the ring and especially on the mic, drunk as shit, high or cracked out, or not.
Should have had a run with the world championship had Hulkamania not been making so much goddamn money.
Notorious bullshit salesman.
Innovator. He didn't invent the DDT contrary to popular belief, but he named the damn thing and he made it popular. It was a FINISHER at a time when that was precisely what it meant. It was the first of many finishers to be bastardized and overused to death with how many myriad of variations wrestlers have pulled out of their asses over the years but it was definitive when Jake used it. Jake made his look like it murdered you, not for you to kick out at 1. Petey Williams must feel the same way about how he innovated The Canadian Destroyer only for it to now be a transitional move now.
Has many, many deep rooted issues. That much is certain. Diamond Dallas Page's contributions to the wrestling industry is underappreciated for being able to keep Jake alive and able to reconcile with his wife.
Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane is the name of the chemical compound that had that conjured the headline "DDT-Brain Killer" that supposedly caught Jake's eye on a newspaper. Or does it mean 'Damien's Dinner Time'? Or does DDT, as Jake also put it mean "The End"? Doesn't matter; its based and a memorable name for a wrestling move.
Real name is 'Aurelian'.
Should have gotten Patterson's job.
The snake biting Macho is one of the greatest wrestling segments of all time. Those shots of the snake biting in his arm, posing in the ring with Jake at the end and Jake smiling at it for the final shot are amazing bits of cinematography.
That story of him giving Cheryl a little extra snake's venom to spit right into Rick Rude's mouth during a kissing segment causing Rude to lose it and want to murder him is fucking hilarious.
Nobody else could do what he did with hauling that heavy ass animal all over the world.

He was the third person to use it. Amazing red created it, and i wasnt his finisher either.
Kind of like how ande the Giant created the pedigree, and never used it as a finisher either.

Andre's pedigree looked more like a slapjack or maybe a "I'm to hung over to try a butterfly suplex" which he tended to use a lot.

Whose the second?

Quiet storm was the second notable user, he refined the move after Red invented it, as he had wrestled with red a number of times. Red allegedly came up with it by accident with a botched sunset flip.

Proof that frame > all
Never lifted in his life and still looked good next to Hogan.

Pretty much a top all-around wrestler. He was just his own worst enemy and he didn't take good care of himself.

Based and dark and it actually worked because he was a crackhead from and an incestuous rape birth so the darkness was legit, unlike Husky Harris who was a nepobaby football player playing a spooky role, Jake would’ve been based if he took a super dark role in the attitude era as a manager or something

Based blog, very informative.

100% this. The NG would never have happened and AE would be there 4/5 years earlier (Jake would be found dead with an OD quite easily).

based

easily one of my top 3 favorites
best promo in the biz and one of the great workers.

A Wyatt family (the original gimmick) with Jake as the leader would’ve been dimes on dimes
