Always felt that the wider plated version of the belt looked better.

it's because belts are treated as marketing tools now. the brand has to be front and center

I think the midcard title should be a bit gaudier and have more color than the world title both to make it visually distinct and to make it feel a bit "lesser" in its own way so a part of me honestly prefers this version. Granted there's an element of nostalgia there too since I grew up in RA era. I'll admit WCW's US title is probably a better middle ground for this kind of design mindset.

Not really, it's just the concept of what is modern and what is vintage. Even if vintage stuff has the best aesthetic it is still vintage looking and therefore a thing of the past. You can build the Parthenon again now but it still looks ancient in terms of design. Looking at it through that light you can try to put the blame on designers not being able to make modern look good, or the consumers for seeing things that look like less appealing as better since they are 'new'.

The way I see it is who cares. WWE doesn't even have good competition in AEW so none of this shit really even matters anymore. The WCW world heavyweight championship was the best looking title and always will be.

This one actually looks really cool but TNA just isn't good

or maybe we shouldnt throw away everything thats older than ten years. some things are good enough to be kept. a championship belt is supposed to represent history and a prestigious lineage. WWE owns the rights to many of the best belt designs of all time but they arent using any of them, which is retarded. any other company would love to be able to use big gold, or the big gold eagle, or the original IC belt, but corporate kikes have no soul and no respect for any tradition that doesnt involve mutilating baby dicks.
