>“Saikou” or “handsome”—which one will the god of professional wrestling smile upon? The must-win Triple Crown title match between champion Miyahara Kento and Anzai Yuma (August 29 at EBARA WAVE Arena Ota, Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo) is fast approaching.

>The two have been clashing almost daily in preview matches, and at the August 23 Jiba-san Kurume show in Kurume, Fukuoka, they collided in an eight-man tag team match. Anzai finished off Kumaarashi with Gumshara (running knee attack) right in front of Miyahara. With neither man able to afford to wait any longer, their battle is only growing more intense. Champion Miyahara already holds the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship record for most cumulative defenses, with 36, while his record for consecutive defenses stands at 10, tying Kawada Toshiaki during Miyahara’s 62nd-champion reign. Now in his current reign as the 76th champion, he has completed eight defenses. He aims to turn back Anzai for V9, then reach V10 and V11 to establish a new record. He has also held the title seven times, second only to Suwama’s eight reigns. Miyahara is, in other words, “Mr. Triple Crown Champion,” and by extension can be called the face of All Japan Pro Wrestling. Indeed, he receives enormous cheers as he proudly proclaims himself “Saikou,” and his deliberately drawn-out entrance generates tremendous excitement. His post-victory microphone performances also bring the house down, and his popularity with the crowd is befitting his position as president of the wrestlers’ association.

Even with Taguchi and Kumadori, the ticket sale/pre-sale not doing as I expected especially since it's MAO first title match (not counting Takagi at WPP) and he's as popular as Ueno.
i know Korakuen Hall sells their ticket on the day so might get filled more, but I wonder if fans are feeling overwhelmed with the amount of shows in these last weeks.

It looked for sure like they were going the Kamitani route, cement him as the new ace by beating the old one and have him do all that crossover media with the belt. Maybe missing the Carnival led to a change of plans? Of which he needs two more successful defenses to get to V11 and claim the record all for himself) And it makes one wonder just who would be the best fit as the next champion if it wasn't the highly popular and seemingly perfect choice in Anzai?
