Back in 2019 Rush and his family tried pulling an Antonio Pena, forming their own Lucha promotion and poaching CMLL talent on their way out. Management got wind of the plan, and no one ended up leaving besides Rush, his brother Dragon Lee and their father La Bestia del Ring. His other brother Dralistico would leave two years later. That he attempted to do this goes beyond the typical “hurt feelings” CMLL has been able to bury with talent like Andrade and Mortos for working AAA. Lots of bad blood on both sides.

I have a feeling AEW does something sketchy with visa's or they are just lying about why Rush and others are out. You just don't see the amount of "visa" problems with WWE or any other non-wrestling company.

I have absolutely no idea why AEW bothers with Rush. He's been with AEW since 2021. He's been on PPV only 4 times and none of those were big singles matches due to various issues. He's clearly non-essential and he is also very clearly not some big draw who is worth the extra effort.
