The birth of AEW.

at first thought, I'd say Undercarders career, but then I realized it's already forgettable. So Cena's career.

It was his fault for getting over as a face so hard while acting like a traditional heel. The only way to truly get the people to boo you then is become a retarded stooge

Was that the one with Mae Young's tits? I watched that one live. Me and my friend laughed so hard we couldn't fucking believe they showed that. I think they put a red transparent X over it on later rereleases but it was uncensored live. I think they said it was a prosthetic or something but it looked hella convincing lol.

this was me but with The Kat's tit flash at Armageddon

Wish I had seen that one live. I looked it up online and jerked my dick though on my 56k modem back in the day though. Good times.

split faction nwo and the fact that everyone on the roster was required to join one of them, which is why i will always have an extra layer of respect for ddp

Kevin Nash.
Both him power bombing the hottest young star in the company and having to witness that awful incident in the sweltering hot summer of 1992.

Austin doesn't get enough shit for this. He didn't turn for any logical reason than just being a mark and caring about his character. Business was still great with Austin and the crowds were far from tired of him.

Speaking of Mae Young, that segment where her and Moolah got down on all fours and went into a doghouse and barked at vince while wearing lingerie is easily one of the most stomach churning things i've ever seen in wrestling. I'll take hundreds of dumbass BJW weedwhacker spots over that shit.

He genuinely had X-Pac heat with me during that heel run.

Austin has gone on record saying that he regretted the turn, so you're pretty on the mark.

this never happened
>>

Oh it happened. On Vince McMahon appreciation night in 2007, before he got blown up.
>>
>>21130531
I would say im surprised I don't see any AEW fans mentioning the sparklers match or the Matt Hardy shit or the wardlow-hager fake mma match but it's on brand for them to refuse to admit anything bad ever happened on their shitty show.

The 90s.
If I didn't have the 90s to compare it to maybe I'd enjoy wrestling today a whole lot more.

Maybe in certain angles or segments, but he usually wrestled his matches as a complete babyface

In terms of a shoot incident? The Benoit murder-suicide. That was a fucking ROUGH time to be a pro wrestling fan. That was basically wrestling's 9/11
In terms of something onscreen that I watched at the time? The infamous Old Day segment. That was literally the only time in my life where I genuinely changed the channel from a wrestling show and didn't watch the rest of the show later. That shit was too fucking cringe

Just wipe everything post 2005 and plant a memory that every promotion just closed up after that year so I don't have any reason to look back at this dogshit 'sport'

>that was a fucking ROUGH time to be a pro wrestling fan
Not really. If you mean that WWE became rough to watch then i'd agree. 2007 RAW was brutal, pre and post-Benoit. The passage to PG was the death knell. But socially it was alright. People still talked about the big stars of the company. Cena was crossing over decently enough with non-fans. The big 4 PPVs were still generating a bit of buzz. All the edgy kids and teens moved on to UFC during that period but it had enough of a presence and residual goodwill from being the ''crazy show on TV'' that it wasn't completely irrelevant in the way that it is now.
