I heard this as well. They definitely called and said that. No one in attendance seemed to notice the head strike the post though, at least not that has posted about it. They all have said the match was seemingly going fine and then Butchers legs just folded and he fell. Blade tried to get him up. I still don't understand why Butcher and the Blade weren't pushed to the moon. They could work well enough, they had an awesome look, Butcher had enough charisma for both of them and Blade was still cooler than both Young Bucks and FTR put together, they weren't sawdusted for the first several years of AEW, and I've never heard anything about them being difficult to work with backstage, or any other talent not liking them. Like sure, at the end of the day they still need to job to the Young Bucks, that's politics, but they could have been as close to as over as the Road Warriors as you can get in modern wrestling. And don't give me any shit about scheduling. The Lucha Bros were pushed like crazy and Fenix was out with a career ending injury every other match. Early AEW was kind of jank in a lot of ways, but it had one of, if not the most stacked tag rosters of all time and Tony did almost nothing with it.
