What did Tony not see in him?
>>
>>21131380
Tony is a soothsayer who knew he would die.
>>
>>21131380
Because Tony wanted the Bunny to twerk for him and the Butcher was a father figure to her and prevented that.
>>
>>21131380
Fumbled dime
>>
>>21131380
He wouldn't let Tony stay with his lids or fuck his dog
>>
>>21131380
that team was kinda dorky, which is charming to me but definitely not push material. good midcard act thoughbeit. they just had terrible injuries.
>>
Idiots blame JR for their bad introduction but it was on Excalibur. Giving him a chance to explain who they are, say something about them, why they're here, or say ANYTHING notable about them, all Excalibur could say is their names over and over like that meant something.
>I-ITS THE BUTCHER AND THE BLADE! AND THE BUNNY
>WHO
>THE BUTCHER AND THE BLADE! BUTCHER AND THE BLADE! AND THE BUNNYYYYYY
Elite cocksuckers blamed JR but it was on Excalishit for but botching their intro
>>
>>21131380
He snorted too much of Tony’s coke so he had to let him go
>>
>>21131380
could say the same for Nick Comorato
>>
>>21131454
>JD Drake
>Wardlow
>Gates of Agony
Lots of big guy midcarders in AEW doing jack shit. At least Mark Davis is decently featured on tv.
>>
Tony feels shoot threatened by masculine men
>>
>>21131380
Tony can't into kino post-hardcore because he's a limp twisted faggot BITCH and Every Time I Die was too much for him
>>
>>21131466
>Gates of Agony
>big guy
Those guys are manlets like Brian Cage kek
>>
>>21131385
everyone dies though
>>
>>21131380
He's old. He was already 42 years old when AEW started and he died at 48. Tony will push old guys, but generally only if they're already big names.
>>
>>21131380
Butcher was never a really that good of a wrestler, much of the matches ran off of Blade's in ring smarts. But I digress..

When I was watching AEW still, Tony always did a hack job booking B&B even as a basic upper midcard - midcard heel team which they could have easily passed as would that Tony would have stopped shitting for a minute and give them wins, if not short title runs on the tags
it's a bit off a fumble but only in the sense that it's Tony and he's done it to countless fucking teams at this point, booking them to job his flavor of the week boytoys and then making them disappear only to bring them back without building them back up.
>>
>>21131380
I'm convinced that no one actually likes Converge but feels obliged to say they do for fear of losing cred points.
>>
he was like 50 and started to wrestle when he was already old
>>
>>21131702
literally what's wrong with Converge nigga
I understand if the more noisy old albums are difficult from some people, but their modern stuff?
>>
>>21131691
>booking them to job his flavor of the week boytoys and then making them disappear only to bring them back without building them back up.
he has 0 understanding of the business and refuses to care.
>>
>>21131702
Converge sucks ass. Poison the Well are the true kings of that genre.
>>
>>21131702
also ETID was basically a rock version of that sound
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYM_dT-LD1E
>>
>>21131716
The trash vocals are a big part of it. Bannon has always been shit.
>>
>>21131716
Saw converge live once, the singer litterally just said “fwack” in every song
>>
>>21131380
In retrospect belting up SCU was a mistake, but you understand why Khan did it. Hard to imagine belting up a worse tag team who were also old would have ended up being a good choice.

Not saying it couldn't have worked, I liked Butcher quite a lot, but it seems obvious why their tag ceiling was mid card and Butcher wasn't the better of the two. He was cool and could have been used a bit better, but he was never a guy it made sense to push.
>>
dillinger / etid > converge/ poison the well
>>
>>21131716
Jacob's shitty muffled vocals mainly. Sounds like he's shouting through a towel.
>>
Butcher's optimal role was big guy heel jobber, because he looks the way you imagine a pro wrestler looks. But AEW already has their pick of those guys, just look at the Don Callis Family. When even Josh Alexander can't get higher than midcard heel, your roster is just a little too deep for a guy like The Butcher.
>>
>>21131750
Dillinger Escape Plan was always the clear Michaels, miles ahead of everyone else. Honorable mentions for Botch and more recently Frontierer/Sectioned.
>>
>>21131380
>big guy
>unique look
Those have never been things Tiny Khan has ever pushed and probably in fact hurt a wrestler in AEW. Even Wardlow did not get a main event push and he was big over at one point.
>>
>>21131380
no company for big men. their time is over
>>
>>21131380
Just take a chance on that 48 year old rookie with health issues.
>>
I liked him but I never saw him as more than muscle in a stable for a guy higher up the card. I was surprised as faction happy as Tony is he was never used in that way because Butcher and Blade had a decent enough look for it even if they weren't that great in the ring.
>>
>>21131400
keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek
>>
>>21131380
Tony only likes 5' 7" twinks.
>>
>>21131466
Wardlow's being punished because Tony gave him time off to do that American Gladiators reboot on Amazon, then it turned out The Miz was the host and Tony threw a bitch fit.
>>
did he actually die
I thought you guys were just being memester faggots
>>
>>21131380
I thought that team was dimes in early AEW. I thought they were going to be the first big heel tag champs.
>>
>>21131723
He's played so much TEW, how dare you.
>>
He was already in his 40s when he started wrestling. Never had the chance to hone his craft in the ring. He also had an unusually high pitched voice for a guy his size. Still, I'm a believer in the Paul Heyman school of booking where anyone can get over if you book them to their strengths and disguise their weaknesses. His look was absolute dimes and it was even more pronounced in a fed like AEW where he was surrounded with skinny twinks at all times. Pity he didn't break into wrestling when he was a bit younger.
>>
>>21132792
>He also had an unusually high pitched voice for a guy his size.
Neanderthal larynx like Brock Lesnar.

The Blade got a serious back injury. I think he was on the shelf for nearly 2 years. I still think Tony fumbled The Butcher though. He had a great look and his matches were fun. I think he was another victim of the "Probably can't hang with Kenny, Ospreay, etc.. so he's only going to go so far in AEW" mindset. If he was 10 years younger he might have had a shot.
>>
>>21131466
Gates of Agony main event tvs all the time
>>
he was part of a band no? id imagine it would be hard to push him because of that like putting the tag titles on him if he would have to leave randomly to tour

>>21132890
Anon... I...

>>21131750
Car Bomb is better
>>
>>21131380
Because he fucking sucked and had the voice of an 8 year old?
>>
>>21132872
i think he quit the band sometime during his wrestling run but i'm not sure
>>
I liked him but he put on a few stinkers. Got gassed in short matches, which makes me thing he had a preexisting condition.
>>
>>21133054
The band split up.
>>
>>21131380
Tony hates big guys
>>
>>21133058
nah he was probably getting gassed because he wasn't athletic and started wrestling at an advanced age where he didn't have the same kind of conditioning as, say, an ex-football player would have

Keith Buckley, the vocalist of the band, went insane and caused the band to split up

All these pseudo-hardcore fake tough guy fags are absolute drama queens. From Rollins' era to now with all these twitter addicted xillenial bitches on ssri's and impotently yelling about shit they don't know anything about. Discord cults around a metalcore frontman, are you having a laff? At least you don't see David Yow doing this kind of bs.
I also thought they were all straight edge for some reason.
>>
>>21131466
>>JD Drake
lmfao
>>
>>21132173
Exactly. Tony's an Anti-Vince. If you're over six foot and two hundred pounds in AEW then you're fucking dead. AEW's the vanilla flippy shit show.
>>
>>21131380
He was already in his mid 40s when he got to AEW
>>
>>21133506
At least Rollins lived in it and has a level of self awareness. How much is debatable though.
>>
>>21131380
I wanted them to get the tag belts, but if you ever heard The Butcher cut a promo, you'd lol. He sounded nothing like the way he looked.
>>
hey came off as hard "bear-gay"
>>
>>21131380
>never gets pushed
Did you not hear his voice?
>>
>>21131398
This is the thing. Butcher and the Blade was a tag team with an actual gimmick, something completely missing from modern pro wrestling. They could’ve been a great tag team act, with the Butcher as a solid midcarder and main event threat. And Williams originally wanted to be a pro wrestler and grew up watching wrestling in the 80s and 90s, he understood pro wrestling better than the self-marks in the ring nowadays. The problem was that he transitioned to pro wrestling in his very late 30s and was already over 40 when he debuted in AEW. He was simply too old, guy started at the age when others usually slow down or even retire
>>
>>21133543
>>21133864
get them a mouthpiece then, it’s really that simple
Kane was a mute originally and it worked
